Jack was barking out orders as we ran up the stairs back to the main house. Damon and Adonis quickly locked and sealed the basement behind us, cloaking its entrance with an illusion of stone bricks that matched the walls around it. We heard the other kues yelling to each other from outside and the deafening boom of giant de'mujos banging against the barriers around the compound.
"They're going to break through, everyone get ready!" Byron roared and my heart stuttered in my chest, anxiety rushing through me. Am I really capable of fighting an actual de'mujo?
The thought quickly vanished from my mind as Darius wrapped his arm around my waist and we were flying through the air towards the top of a tree nestled between the middle of the barrier and the centre of the compound.
"It's a real fine time to ask yourself that question, litani." Darius growled as we crouched low in the tree like the other kues around us.
Well it's not like I've fought one before! I growled back but a blush burned over my cheeks a laugh itching to leave my lips. He looked at me and rolled his eyes, shaking his head.
You beat *me*, Jazmine. You can kill a fucking de'mujo.
I bet I can kill more than you. I grinned and he bit his lip to stop from laughing his eyes sparkling playfully.
I'll take that bet, but if I win, you have to bond with me. He grinned and my eyes grew wide. That Maka fak! I can't believe he would bet our bonding on this!
As if I'd let you bind my soul on a *bet*. You're going to lose, dejaino. I huffed glaring at him holding out my hand to him.
Oh I hope so, evela me, He sighed taking my hand, evela'tu ma'sun lefo, litani. He smiled bringing my fingers to his lips, kissing them softly.
Evela'tu, evela me. En ti lefo, na ti nua. I whispered squeezing his hand tight. He grinned nodding his head looking towards the weakening barrier.
You better keep up, Jaz. I like to keep a high kill count. He laughed as we heard an enormous roar break out around us as the barrier gave an angry moan giving way to the crushing pressure of the giants' angry blows.
I love a challenge, lunto. I growled digging my nails into the tree readying myself to attack the oncoming de'mujos.
The de'mujos cackled and screamed as they raced through the forest towards the compound. I growled low as I watched the disfigured beings tear through the trees waiting for the signal to attack. I looked at Darius and my heart thudded in my chest at the menacing look in his sexy black eyes. I can't believe I am turned on right now! Ja'diem Jazmine!
