Façade

The escape was peaceful,
Much like heaven on Earth.
No sadness, no screams,
Nothing about the future.

Nothing at all but everything
at the same time,
Nothing but the present.
It was peaceful like the birds
in the sky.

Even if,
It was all a facade,
To keep it alive.

The second we returned
Too quick I would say,
It only took moments for it to break
The facade was no more.

All crumbled and shattered
And that's when I noticed,
That there was no end to it all.
