Episode One; Part One
==========
"Kenny!"
"Clem! DON'T LET GO OF AJ," he ordered as I was hanging off of the ledge of the hospital window.
Okay, so this is what's happening.
We went here to get some medicine supplies, since I need new stitches from my recent cut. As usual, zombies started appearing out of nowhere and chased us until we reached the top floor.
We got to the rooftop, and that was the time we realized our stupid mistake.
Suddenly the zombies seem to clump together, making me furrow my eyebrows. Then I realized they were being absorbed by one another, creating one, big, shitscary mutant walker full of rotten heads and limbs.
"What the fu--," Kenny got cut off by the huge walker advancing towards us, making us tumble backwards in shock.
"Aaah!" We both simultaneously screamed as I tumbled over the ledge. I fell and luckily gripped a hospital window, AJ still secured in my hand.
That's how it happened.
"Kenny, behind you!" I yelled, as Kenny turned around only to be face-to-face with the creature.
"Bleurghhhh," it growled, emmiting a green cloud of stench.
"Clem, be safe. I'll be fine, I promise! Just go," he signalled at the lake conveniently beside the hospital.
"Kenny," I whispered shutting my eyes closed and loosening my grip on the ledge. Falling, I felt tears escaping from my eyes when I heard Kenny's manly screams, and the horrible sound of a walker satisfying itself.
Before I hit the water---
I woke up.
I sat up, gasping for air, tears running down my cheeks. I saw Alvin Jr.'s gaze go away from his book and to me, a concerned look in his face.
He rushed to me, little legs attempting to run fast, with a water jug. "Here, Clem." He sat down and handed the water to me.
"Thanks AJ," I nodded at him, gulping down a little water to save some for him.
"Which nightmare is it about this time?" He sighed, getting himself into an Indian-style sitting position.
"K-kenny...," I trailed. I don't get the Kenny nightmare most of the time, it was usually about Sandra or Mom. The Kenny nightmare, or my memory of Kenny's death, was possibly the worst one, next to... Lee's.
"Oh, I'm sorry," he hugged me. "I know that one's the worse. I think."
"Thanks AJ," I smiled.
AJ is probably the nicest kid ever. Despite our surroundings, he manages to be optimistic with me. I protect him from the mutant walkers, and he comforts me in return.
He was only a baby when Kenny died, but I made sure to make him think Kenny's the best guardian he ever really was.
"So, wanna look for some food today? We're running low," I stood up and dusted my skinny jeans.
"Sure, just let me finish my book. I only have two pages left," he said proudly, and reached for his book. For a six year old, he's really smart. He has a wide vocabulary that will really be beneficial for him sometime.
"Wha'cha reading?" I asked him.
He held up a red book. "The Catcher In The Rye," he said nonchalantly.
"Whoa, just yesterday you were reading a cartoon Cinderella book," I mused.
"Eh," he shrugged, then sat back down to his chair by the table.

"Done," he closed his book shut. What? I just turned around for ten seconds, yet he's already done.
He noticed my expression and grinned. "Impressive, huh?"
I rolled my eyes, then went to him to give him a nudgie. I laughed as he whined when I messed up his hair.
"Why the hair?" He groaned.
"It's not like we aren't going to mess it up when I cover you in walker guts," I said. He stuck his tongue at me and I tickled him for it.
"H-haha-ha o-okay s-top!" He laughed.
"Alright, c'mon," I put my backpack over my shoulders and wrapped my arm around AJ, the other gripping my rifle.
I lifted the plywood that barricades the opening of the underground tunnel this abandoned library has, and watched AJ try to help.
"Thanks, buddy," I chuckled.
He grinned proudly to himself as we went through the tunnel. "This place still stinks," he whispered, knowing to keep his voice down.
"It still does," I whispered back.
We've been living in this abandoned library for months now. Surprisingly, zombies never show up inside. So it was really a safe place for us to hide and call home.
Plus, AJ's in book heaven.
We got to the exit, and I opened the wooden door quietly, pushing the leaves away.
When we got out, AJ helped me cover the tiny door with leaves and twigs, disguising it as another large bush.
I sighed, "Let's get this over with."

"That place looks promising," he pointed at a grocery store. Its walls didn't have any cracks or breaks or anything, and the building looks like it's in great shape.
Sure, it looks promising, but also a bit suspicious.
"Let's gooo," he whispered, tugging at my sleeve. I sprinted in front of him, defensively going first, just in case.
We slowly crept towards the entrance, me with my gun out. We were pressed against the wood that was covering some parts of the undamaged windows, then slowly scooted to the door.
I notice he was holding a green plastic bag, and I raised an eyebrow. "Wait, why are you carrying that?"
"My favorite books," he whispered. "Little Women... Old Yeller... The Fault In Our Stars..."
"Hold on to it tight, then," I said, then took a quick glance through the transparent door.
"Clear," I grinned, enjoying the luck brought upon us.
We ran inside and looked for supplies, or any sort of food. "Hey Clem," AJ said. "This refrigerator's still working!"
"Awesome." I made my way to him and indeed, like he said, there was a refrigerator glowing blue, weirdly making me nervous.
"Mmm, I hope it has pudding!" He opened it eagerly. Tons and tons of d flew out, our eyes widening.
"YEAH," AJ whispered, and fist-pumped the air.
I chuckled. "Good job--,"
"HANDS IN THE AIR WHERE I COULD SEE 'EM."
