Episode One; Part Two

==========

"HANDS IN THE AIR WHERE I COULD SEE 'EM."

AJ and I stayed still, paralyzed with fear and shock. Of course, how couldn't I have seen this coming? Nobody would be lucky enough to come across a pile of food. Let alone a whole refrigerator of it.

"You aren't touching my food, you delinquents," the guy hissed, his voice faintly familiar.

"No one messes with my food."

My eyes popped out of their sockets. Not literally, though, 'cause that would be fucking gross. I meant it metaphorically, and out of shock.

"Luke...," my voice trailed. {A/n Guys this is a different Luke, okay?} Like the one from the video game.} I remember him now. I got separated from Christa and Omid, after Lee... Then Luke and Pete found me, accused my dog bite of being a walker bite, stuck me in the shed, and lots of things happened.

Rebecca, Nick, Carlos, Sarah, Jane, Mike, and Bonnie... My old group.

Carly. Doug. Lilly. Larry. Glenn. They were the other survivors in my older group. From Lee's family's pharmacy. Damn.

"How d-do you know my name?" He was confused, and I heard the confidence in his expression turn into curiousity.

AJ tugged at my sleeve, giving me a nervous glance. I returned it with a reassuring smile.

"It's me. Clementine," I stated.

He took almost a minute to process the information. "Wait, Clementine? That little badass girl we came across? The little girl who said she used to be with a guy named Lee?"

I almost shed a tear at the thought of Lee. I had to do it, he would've turned. You're a murderer, Clementine. No. I did what had to be done.

"Well, the only me is me," I rolled my eyes. Then held my hand out. "Handshake?"

He shook my hand, then his head in disbelief. Then he huffed, "Pfft, handshake my ass." And gave me a hug, which I gladly returned.

"You look... older. You're taller. Your hair seems longer, now too."

I snorted, and pulled away. "Yours do too."

"Just a little!  Yours seem straighter than before! Like, it was super curly."

"I guess 9 years made my hair straight," I shrugged.

"Really?!" AJ squealed. "You have an Edgar Allan Poe shelf? Full of copies of his books?!"

"Yeah, I'm not much of a reader, but my friend Grahdo is."

"That's awesome!"

I chuckled at his giddiness. Ever since Luke brought up how their building has a library, AJ just let each question fire out of his mouth in an inhuman speed.

Luke seemed happy, though. I guess kids cheer him up. He's happier than when I saw a zombie pull him down in the icy water, that's for sure.

"Anyway, Clem, all the dudes and gals there're from Russia. You like Russia, right?"

"Uh..." I said. "Sure?"

"Nothing against Russians?"

"Well," I sing-songed, "a certain group, I really don't appreciate, but Russians generally, I guess they're okay."
