Prologue Part 4

When the school was at the view from the window, the bus began to stop and all of us went out of the bus. As we were about to go to class, a teacher sprinted to me in the hallways with fiery determined eyes, when she reaches me, she takes a break for a while to catch her breath then grabs both of my shoulders, oh crap as I thought this won't go well.

"Putri,"

her voice strict but sounded really sweet at the same time

"Hi, there Ms. Citra, what's up?" I greet her,

"May I talk to you privately?" she asked,

"Am I not going to class? It's going to start soon" I replied,

"You'll catch up with your studies later and besides I had permission from Ms. Dinda" she answered,

"umm-"

"NOW COME ON, THEY'RE WAITING FOR US!"

She grabbed my hand and we sprinted to the hallways, I tried to catch up with her but I had no idea where is she leading me until I saw a familiar face went to the teacher's lounge. Right as I was about to enter the room, I saw three unfamiliar faces sitting in a rather large table full of teachers, I was told to put my belongings in a locker beside the door and then to sit down with the rest of the teachers.

It was quite, but then a blonde woman finally stand up to the others and spoke,

"Why are you nervous? We're not strangers when we first met you, you know" the woman said, with a smokey and appealing voice,

"LISA?!" I quickly recognize her voice, I didn't realize that I had jumped out of my seat,

"Hello there Putri! we finally meet again" Lia said and instantly greeted me with open arms,

"Hello there ms. Ningrum, I'm happy to see you again!" Andi added while joining in the hug,

"Now, where were we?" Ms. Citra interrupted,

Andi and Lia stopped hugging me and sit down next to Lisa, once again the whole teacher lounge becomes quite,

"Putri, we need to talk," Lisa said with a serious tone,

"We seemed to have difficulties finding the murderer," Lisa said, feeling very disappointed,

"We've been investigating for three years now, I don't think we can do anything else to find them," Andi added,

"I don't think we can be at any help with the case, but it is up to you now to find out about your dad's death"

It was depressing to hear about the misfortune news they had told, unable to solve my dad's murder is already tearing my heart apart,

"I know I shouldn't bring up the topic, but I am certain you'll find a way to get to the bottom of this" Lia motivated me,

"And that's why we would like to ask you if you want to begin your new life in Kalimantan," Lia said,

Everyone was shocked, including Lisa and Andi, at first the teachers thought she was joking, but since she's a teenager now, they knew she was telling the truth.

"Maybe it's not us that we need to find, maybe it's someone else," Lia said,

The others were confused about Lia's theory, even her own sister didn't see how mature and intelligent she has become,

"Maybe we were in a dead-end because the case wouldn't want to be solved by us" Lia added, trying to get her point to the others, but no one seemed to get the idea and was still confused,
