Liz's POV:
"If she survives the night, she'll probably make it," the doctor tells me gravely.I look up at him. "Give me a percentage. What's her chance of survival?"
"Honestly?" He asks.
"My parents won't be able to take this news. I will. Just tell me," I say.
"30 percent chance of survival," he says softly.
I nod grimly, turning around and going back toward her room.
"Uh, Miss?" He says.
I turn back to him. "Statistics are wrong a lot," he says.
I nod, grateful for his encouragement. I walk onto the room, sitting in a chair by her bed. I sent my parents home, cause they were arguing and crying and it was just ridiculous. Apparently they're getting a divorce. I sigh and take Lauren's hand. My sister is dying, and there's nothing I can do about it. Nothing at all. I close my eyes, wishing Hunter was here to put his arms around me and tell me he's here for me. But he's not. He's performing right now. I didn't even get to say goodbye to him. I sigh look at my sister. We're mirror images of each other, except she's tall. Our faces are the same though. She has more smile lines than I do. You can attribute that to her being older, or me not smiling. She's beautiful. I let my head rest in the mattress. I'm so tired.

BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPP!!!"
The heart monitor is practically screaming. Then I realize what that means. She's flatlining. A group of nurses and a doctor rush in, pushing me out of the room as they try to bring life back onto Laurels lifeless body.
Hunters POV:
My phone rings right as I step into the bus after the show.Liz.
"Hey!" I say, eager to hear her voice.
"Ohmygod she's dying Hunter she flatlined and now the people are in there tying to bring her back but she's dying she's dead!" She cries hysterically.
"Hey, Lizzie, breathe ok. Breathe for me baby," I beg her as her words sink in.
"Ok. Ok I'm breathing," she tells me.
"Good. Now I need you to sit down, if you're not already," I say gently.
"Ok. Ok I'm sitting down now," she confirms.
"Alright. Lizzie, I can't promise you anything ok? But if she doesn't make it, I promise I'll come down and be with you ok?" I say.
"Ok. Oh! They're coming out," she says.
I hear muffled voices. "She's ok," Liz finally says.
"Good! Oh my gosh Liz that's great! Call me if anything happens ok?" I say.
"Ok. I will Hunter. I love you," she says.
"I love you too Lizzie," I say before we hang up.
This is such a mess.
Liz's POV:
Being strong is something that I've never been good at. Not even before Hunter started hitting me. I've always been a weak person; easily broken. So maybe that's why I reacted the way I did. Maybe that's why I'm sitting in a bar, drinking away my sorrows. Laurel didn't make it. Her heart gave out at 4:23 this morning. I order another drink just as my phone rings.
