1. Plot in one sentence?
Four very unlucky people spend an entire book running away from, chasing, and ruining each others lives trying to either stop, start, or avoid a war.
2. Sight, sound, smell, feel, and taste to describe the aesthetic of the novel?
Sight ~ A foggy morning over a small town, whose houses are burned down and charred. Maps and charts and uniforms. A rustic kitchen, walls lined with family pictures of no one related to you.
Smell ~ Choking, acrid smoke and metal and the faint trace of gunpowder as you realize that the fog may in fact, not be fog at all.
Sound ~ Silence in all the places it should not be or the sound of gunshots outside your kitchen window.
Feeling ~ The thud of your heart against your ribs when its so quiet out and you're trying to breathe softly.
Taste ~ Blood or canned soup. Never know.
