Broken Lover (Prinxiety)

Roman's P.O.V:

I look back at Virgil with tears pouring down my face.

"I JUST CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE ROMAN."

"V-Virgil.. we c-can make this work-"

"NO! WE CAN'T! WE'RE ONLY GOING TO BREAK. SO IT'S OVER."

"Virgil don't leave me please.."

"I-I'm...I'm sorry Roman." 

And he leaves.

I don't know what to do at first. I call Patton up because it hurts. He answers after 2 rings

"Hey kiddo! What's up?"

"P-P-Patton he l-left me."

"What?".

"Virgil left me. We broke up."

"I'll be over with Logan in 10." He hangs up and the tears fall even harder. I lay on my side as I sob. The broken feeling gets stronger. I hold myself and don't move, even when Patton and Logan show up.

"Hey Kiddo? We're here." Patton comes and sits by me.

"Oh kiddo...what happened?"

"w-we broke up b-because he c-couldn't do it a-a-anymore."

"Oh Roman..."

"w-what do I-I do...."

"You have to move on kiddo."

"I don't want to move on! I want Virgil!"

"Kiddo-"

"Please bring him back....I-I need him...please before I do something stupid.."

"Okay...we'll bring him back."

"T-Thank you." I lay on my side and I don't get up to do anything. I fall asleep a few times but I fall asleep again. It's around 2 in the morning when I hear the door click open. I don't move, I just stare blankly at the wall. Someone comes and sits by me on the couch.

"Roman...?" The person speaks softly. I look up to see Remus.

"Remus?" My voice sounds strange and full of pain.

"Hey I'm here. "

"Where's Virg-"

"He left with Ethan to Paris."

"w-what?" My voice comes out small and broken.

"He's gone. He left."

"w-with Ethan."

"Y-Yeah...our boyfriends ran away from us."

"no...no no no please...."

"I'm sorry Roman..."

"No! He told me he'd be mine forever! He told me he'd love me until I died! You can't be serious!" I am sobbing into his chest now.

"i'm sorry Ro...."

"No...." We sit there, mourning over our loss.

5 years later:

This is the day. I'm ending it. It's been 5 years . I haven't seen Virgil. I have a feeling he's married with a kid now. Remus already fell into drugs and alcoholism. I left my note for Remus. I sit on the railing of the bridge and look out at the setting sun. I nearly slide myself out when I hear the yell.

"ROMAN!" I stop and slide myself off the railing to the ground. I recognize the voice but I refuse to believe it. I can't end it if it is...

"Virgil?" His face is tear streaked and his eyes look dull. His hair is a mess.

"Roman it's me. I'm back."

"No...you left me."

"I'm back though."

"No. You and your boyfriend left me and Remus to rot! Remus is an alcoholic and a druggie! You are a fucking dick and I hate you!"

"My..my boyfriend?"

"Ethan!"

"Ethan and I aren't boyfriends."

"Wait...really?"

"Yeah he just went to Remus's apartment."

"Oh...why did you leave me all those years ago?"

"Ethan...he needed help. Our plan was to see the Eiffel tower and then go to Switzerland. For assisted suicide." My jaw drops.

"We almost came back but...he told me to stay. And I did. I didn't want to. Ethan wasn't strong enough on his own."

"I..I hate you."

"Roman...I'm sorry. I meant to come back I-"

"No. You broke me. Don't you get that?!" I walk right up to him and slap him once across the face.

"Roman I deserved that but just listen to me. I loved you a lot. I still do. I came back because I love you. I'm sorry for breaking you."

"I loved you so much Virge. You can ask Patton and Logan. I didn't do anything for months,it was 2 years before I was able to leave my house without pain."

"I-I know...please just come back to me."

"I can't!" I cry for the first time in 3 years. I step back towards the bridge and Virgil grabs me.

"No! You can't end it! Not because of me!"

"Get off of me." I don't recognize my own voice. It's so cold. I get him off of me and I run towards the bridge. I stand on the railing and look at Virgil one last time. I fall backwards off the bridge

"ROMAN NO!" I hear Virgil scream.

Virgil's P.O.V:

I stand over the grave that holds Roman. I put down the bouquet of roses on the grave. Patton, Logan, Ethan, and Remus are here with me. It's raining.

"I'm sorry Princey...." I say as we all cry in black and in the pouring rain.
