Heartbreak. How can someone describe how it feels to have your heart ripped from your chest? The physical pain is there. It feels like someone took it and stomped all over it before shoving it back in your chest. Hearing the words "good-bye" make your heart sink to your feet and you feel it happen.
Heartbreak isn't like the rom-coms everyone loves. Heartbreak is being awake at 2 in the morning knowing they aren't thinking about you. It's hearing just the first chord of the song that reminds you of them and screaming. It's remembering the best moments you had. The cute saying, the letters, the emotions.
Heartbreak is knowing someone else wants you, but all you can think of is that one person you planned your life with. It's seeing someone else with their favorite sweater and your heart breaks all over again.
The constant feeling of overwhelming fear and pain because you don't know how to function without them. The feeling of wanting to text them, but knowing you can't express how much you miss them with words.
Ive had my heartbroken thousands of times, and you'd think i'd be used to this feeling. I'm not. Every time I fall, I should brace for impact, but I think they'll catch me. I haven't been right yet.
I had someone you always caught me right before I hit the ground, but this last time I hit the ground from such a high place. It made me realize love is beautiful but only if you can take the pain.
