It was the best moment of my entire life, I was eight and I wanted to be eight again, but I couldn't so I was stuck being sixteen for a whole year. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate being sixteen, but all I know is that Ski is now eight years old and I'm afraid he's gonna . . . pass soon.

I pray every night and day that he will stay alive. And he does, thanks to a complete stranger named Gabriel Taylor and his adoption parents that are sooo amazingly sweet. Okay, okay, okay, sense you all are hounding me (probably really not because my life isn't interesting), I'll tell you the story.

So, I was just walking Ski with the black leash I found just laying in the leaves when a tall, maybe five"ten, five"eleven boy with Hershey's dark chocolate brown hair and bluish, grayish eyes and looked around nineteen, twenty years old purposely made me bump into him. "Hey! What are you doing bloc-" I looked up and my jaw dropped in awe. I would be lying if I said he wasn't so hotly good-looking. I scolded myself for getting carried away and not focusing on Ski and our problems. So obviously Gabriel didn't say anything until I grabbed Ski's leash and stood up, "Is that your pet?" My mind froze as he said the word pet.

Did it look like Ski was my pet? Well, yeah, he has a leash on him but I put it on him for a reason, because so we don't lose each other. I snapped out of my thoughts and caught Gabriel kneeling down to Ski.

"Um, no." I answered, watching Gabriel scratch Ski behind his ears. Gabriel looked up at me with a confused look. "I found him eight years ago and well, I, I guess you can say I took him in. But he's not really my pet, we're just the best of friends." I said in a matter-of-fact tone. Gabriel nodded. "So, he's eight years old?" Gabriel had his full attention on Ski. "Well, I don't know. But, all I know is that he's around that age."
Gabriel stood up and turned to me. "Well, I'm Gabriel Taylor, but you can call me Gabe." 'Gabe ' said and stuck out his hand for me to shake. I stared at his hand like I've never seen it before. "You're suppose to tell me who you are and then shake my hand." Gabe said, raising an eyebrow. "Oh, I knew that...it's just my foster dad..anyways I'm Emma." I said and shook his hand. His hand was big and warm. I let go because he was holding on for too long and too tight. I bent down to Ski and petted him then held his leash tight in my hand and stood up.

"So, how old are you, Emma?" Gabe asked me while stuffing his hands into his pockets. "Sixteen." I answered, walking back to where Ski and I lived. "Cool, I'm seventeen." Seventeen?! He looks old enough to be in college! "Are you sure? You look older than seventeen." I said.

Gabe gasped and put his hand on his chest like I just hurt him really badly. "Are you saying I look old?!" he asked. "No! I'm just saying you look two years older, which is a good thing, because you look more handsome...I guess." I mumbled. Gabe smirked. "Oh, why thank you." I rolled my eyes as we got to me and Ski's place. "Wait...you made a home for him? That's sweet." Gabe cooed. "Um..well, we both live here...and his name is Ski." I said, looking away while holding my left hand in my right hand. "Oh, I'm so sorry! Ugh, I feel so stupi-" "You didn't know, it's fine. And, it's not a big deal, I mean, I basically chose not to have a home." I said, interrupting Gabe.

"How?" Gabe asked. "How? Oh, u-" "I mean, may I ask how?" Gabe properly asked. "I don't mind. Now how? Well, I used to live with my foster parents until I couldn't take it anymore because my foster dad kept beating me up every single day and my foster mom did nothing about it and I hated it and them so I decided to run away, bringing a few important things with me, of course. But I'm glad I ran away, otherwise, Ski probably would've passed from starvation, coldness, loneliness, dirtiness and non-cared-forness." I explained, looking down and smiling at Ski who was laying on the blankets I found with his head on his paws, looking back at me.

"Well Emma," Gabe started before we both faced each other. "You and Ski can live at my house for as long as you want." "Oh, Gabe, that's very sweet of you, but-" "No, Emma! Look at where and what you live with! You live in a forest!" Gabe exclaimed. I raised an eyebrow at Gage. "So...?" I said, kneeling down to Ski and unhooking his leash from his neck. "Soo, do you know what type of danger is out here?"

I rolled my eyes as I finished unhooking Ski's leash. "Gabe, please. I've been living out here for eight years and nothing dangerous has occurred." I said, giving Gabe a 'you haven't tried living out here for eight years so how should you know?' look. "Emma, I want you and Ski to live somewhere way more better than...that." Gabe said, pointing to the home I made for me and Ski.

"Whatever, I'm not going to live with you, you're a complete stranger." I said, crossing my arms. "Dude! Pff, whatever, you're still coming with me weather you want to or not. Even if I don't know you, I still don't want you or Ski getting hurt." Gabe insisted, grabbing my forearm and pulling me behind him. "Let go of me! You can't just kidnap me! LET GO!" I screamed and with that, Ski popped his head up and growled at Gabe. Gabe looked behind him and gripped tighter on my forearm and ran faster than I could, causing me to trip on a root.

"I can't leave Ski! Let me go! I dema-WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! PUT ME DOWN!" I yelled, getting startled when he grabbed my legs, picking me up and carrying me like I was a bride. I looked to my left, seeing Ski running right after Gabe, barking like a crazy dog. I was mad now, so I started pounding my fists against Gabe's chest but of course he just chuckled and shook his head. Hey! It's not my fault I'm weak, I happen to be a good person because I don't fight others. And just because my brain has amnesia when it comes to being in a bad situation, Indiana Jones Battle music started playing in the background of my brain. I was getting dizzy of everything passing by so fast that it blurs so I fell asleep in Gabe's arms.

🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸(ooh, pretty!)

In, I don't know, fourty five minutes, I woke up in a dark room on something squishy yet comfortable. Where the heck am I? Why is it so dark? And more importantly, where's Gabriel?! Wait, no, where's Ski?!

I started to panic a lot now. "Ski! Ski, here buddy! Ski! Where are you, buddy!?" Instantly, I heard chimes ringing from far away and I mean like from the floor underneath me coming closer and closer. "SKI! SKI! Come here!" I shouted. I heard the door open and I shot up from the bed, running towards the door when all of a sudden, I ran into someone big and muscular and I halted to a stop, looking up and not being able to see the person's face. "Calm down, Emma. Don't wake up my parents! Ski's right here!" the person whisper-shouted. And once I heard his deep voice, I knew right away that it was Gabriel.

"Would be real nice if there was lighting in here so I could see my precious best friend." I snapped. "Aww, that's very nice. I didn't know I was so precious to you in less than three hours." Gabriel cooed, flicking on the light switch that quickly blinded me. I made shade for my eyes on the right side of my face with my hand. "What are you talking about? Ski's my precious best friend, not you. You kidnapped me!" I exclaimed, kneeling down and hugging Ski tight.

"Whatever, Emma. You'll thank me later when you realize I saved you. Both you and Ski." Gabriel stated, leaving the room and slamming the door behind him. I released Ski and rewind what Gabriel had just said. Saved me and Ski from . . . what?
