-Jin-
Jungkook and I had been cleaning for what felt like forever after texting Namjoon. I'd already cooked and everything and now we were done so we sat down eating and he always loved my food so he praised me saying he raised me right as a joke. Seeing Namjoon again set me back to feeling like I had so many years ago, lost without him. Way back then I got used to sleeping in the same bed, waking him up on time with the alarm that was early, cooking while he showered and blasted music and showering while he ate. It was our routine and we knew each other well enough to keep up with everything around us together. We used to win in games of tennis with the tennis players on doubles and they even said our coordination was on par. I was zoned out without knowing it and Jungkook scared me.
Jungkook- "Ahah!"
I looked up, startled and Jungkook looked at me with an evil look.
Jungkook- "Jimin and Yoongi are in town. They play professional tennis and basketball now. In fact they won as double pair in their team and I wanna know if you two are still connected so you should ask to play them."
I chuckled. Jungkook always wanted to be so close with me like that but our rhythms were two unlike for it to happen. He was younger like Namjoon but also a lot more out there and a little lazy. He had no idea about how perfectly he and Taehyung matched up though.
Jin- "sure. I'll call him, you call them."
He nodded and scurried away while I dialed in his number for the second time that day. It took three rings for him to pick up and I smiled, that was the way he always was.
Namjoon- "Jin? What's wrong? You never call people unless its business or something happened."
I smiled, once again he knew me that well.
Jin- "Nothing Joonie. Can you- Can you come over for a bit? I just wanna see you I guess."
I heard a chuckle. Fuck he noticed? I hope he forgot.
Namjoon- "what is it Jin? You stuttered so that means you not telling the whole truth."
I smiled. Of course he caught my stutter. He was the one who pointed it out, when I didn't tell the entire truth to someone I stuttered slightly.
Jin- "of course Joonie. When you get here I'll explain everything to you and Jungkook will too."
I heard his smile. He always hid his smile because of what people said and hed say he took away from my handsomeness with it so he co concealed it when others except close friends were around. I gave him our address and watched Jungkook come into the room.
Jungkook- "they said this should be interesting for them to play since you two were unstoppable back then so they can. Will he?"
I smiled and shrughed.
Jin- "I wanna know that too."
He took a second to figure what I was saying because he didn't know me as well a Namjoon had, no one could take his place. Jungkook nodded, I guessed he was giving up on guessing this time because I'd never explain it to him. Not to long later there was a gentle knock on the door and Jungkook opened it. I already heard form his excitement that it was Jimin and Yoongi. The two came in and smiled at me when they saw me sitting on the floor in front of the couch.
Yoongi- "I see Namjoon isn't here yet. Always late."
The tone he had annoyed me and I snapped.
Jin- "At least he's better than you've ever been with times and focus."
Yoongi knew JUST how to get under my skin and he was toying with that now. He leaned back against the wall amused. I played better when I was angered at that person because it gave me a reason to win and he fed off peoples want and will to win against him and Jimin because it put more pressure on them to win and forced them to fight back.
Jimin- "You two never get along."
Jungkook laughed and Namjoon cleared his throat.
Namjoon- "You're right, I don't think they ever have. It's always going to be a fight between them isn't it? Every single time I see you guys you're either fighting or just finished a fight."
I looked up and smiled, Namjoon standing there gave me so much more hope and confidence alone. Just seeing his figure and his stance when he spoke made me feel alive and ready.
Jungkook- "So, we're all here and ready?"
Namjoon- "For?"
Jimin- "Ah, Thats how Jin got you to come. Well we want to play tennish with the golden brothers. That is if you're not scared to loose."
Namjoon looked at me and I met his eyes, if we could still pretty much speak through our minds it'd have been easier to know our fate.
Namjoon- "Though I gave up tennis a long time ago I'll bite.
My eyes went to him, something in his eyes looked like he was scared of something and he had a hold of his pants as if stopping himself from doing something.
Jimin- "Then let's go. Theres a court in the back of the apartments right?"
Jungkook- "Yeah. Jin and I play sometimes. He's a lot better than he used to be and has more stamina now. He's great."
Namjoon looked at me and held up his hand so I handed him the spare racket beside mine.
Jin- "Lets try to coordinate with each other like before."
He nodded and lifted his racket so I tapped mine against it in a deal. We got to the court and the light chill of excitement covered my whole body because this was nothing like playing with Jungkook who never made me get serious. This was a game to show growth against two majestic national champions.
-No ones POV-
Namjoon hadn't mentioned why he gave up the game but he was hoping Jin could handle the balls that went to the left because he was unable to use is left arm like that anymore. He broke his own ability in the game and no one ever found out but for him to play again could send it right back to it original form and he worried for this but didn't say anything.
