The sun had begun to rise and the rooster started crowing which meant that it was time for Jacob to wake up.
He yawned and slowly got up unwrapping himself from his covers and looked out the window.
It's his favorite thing to do when he first wakes up or maybe he was just stalling for more time to not wake up Courtney.
Now that was a job and a half.
Jacob made his bed, got dressed and, headed out to make a cup of coffee.
He sat down and drank his coffee while watching the sun peek out across the sky.
Once he was finished, he decided to wake up Courtney.
First Jacob knocked on her door then slowly opened it since he heard no answer.
There was Courtney sprawled out on her bed fast asleep.
"Rise and shine! Let's get em up and going!"
Courtney groaned and threw a pillow at Jacobs face. He quickly ducked and walked out of her room and started taking care of the cows.
Courtney in the meantime had gotten up and was drinking a cup of coffee outside when she got a Snapchat from her best friend.
She laughed at it and looked up to see Jacob glaring at her.
"Why don't you make breakfast or do something useful instead of being on your phone?" He glared.
Courtney rolled her eyes.
"I can't run this farm by myself. Go and start your chores" Jacob snapped as he walked away to go carry some buckets of water.
She huffed and got up and left her coffee sitting on the fence ledge and started collecting eggs from the chickens.
Or so she wanted Jacob to think.
But instead of collecting eggs she hid in the chicken coop and FaceTimed some of her friends.
A whole hour went by and Jacob had noticed Courtney was still collecting the eggs.
"Courtney!" He yelled.
"Yes?" She replied and quickly got off
FaceTime."Why are you still in the chicken coop?"
"I'm still getting the chicken eggs duh?"
"That should've been done an hour ago!"
"We had a ton of eggs!"
"Well hurry up! You still have to milk the cows, brush the horses, help exercise the horses, and work in the garden. So, if I was you I'd get to work!" He huffed.
Courtney emerged from the chicken coop.
"I can't do that all!"
"Oh and what about your school? You still have to do that too!"
"You're as bad as mom! Just relax!" She huffed.
"No it's just you have to do your share of stuff. You have to do so little compared to me so don't complain."
Courtney rolled her eyes and walked away towards the horse barn feeling a little guilty, but she didn't show it.
She started to brush the horses while Jacob stood there watching her then he sighed and walked away.
