The twigs snapped as Daryl and Wynter walked deeper into the woods. The group was planning on moving on shortly after all. The sun began to set and painted a natural canvas in the sky; with yellow, Red and Orange they were splattered all over the ocean blue base. Each of the colours faded into the bright sun which shone down on the forest. The leaves crunched and crumbled beneath their feet, as they continued to track a couple of deer. Wynter stayed a close distance to Daryl, as her head was elsewhere. The thoughts of Skylar lingered in her mind and she felt sick leaving her for a couple days while they got supplies and food. While Daryl and Wynter was getting food for the group, the others were trying To make the house as stable as possible. Winter was just around the corner and with the bitter cold and the snow white winter blanket; it would be hard to get the resources they needed. They both breathed in the cold air and Daryl cursed as the trail went cold. Lately this happened quite often and it was frustrating the hell out of the both of them. Another hunt was a bust. Sighing heavily Daryl slung his crossbow over his shoulder. "It's the winter coming. There's scarce resources for everything that eats on this damned world." Daryl stated and Wynter stared at him brushing a piece of hair that was in his eyes. "We'll catch another one. We just need to be more observant and quicker that's all." He knew she was trying to make the best of the situation but even she knew that this was bad. The group would go another cold Autumn day without food.
The sun was down and Daryl and Wynter approached a house in the suburbs in an unknown city. Back before the shit hit the fan people would think they were stupid that they didn't know where they were, but truth be told ever since the world did go to hell. Nobody knows exactly what the day or the life holds. One day you could be alive the next you could become a mindless monster; devouring the same thing you used to be; Humans.... Nobody knew how much more they could spend with their companions. This Worried Wynter so much. She constantly went back to this subject. She wasn't sure why but it even gave her nightmares. Hershel and Glenn hadnt been paying her visits lately which she was thankful about.
Everything revolved around death in her mind and it wasn't just freaking her out but the others also.Wynter's P.O.V.
Daryl interupted my dark thoughts. I memtally sighed in relief and he tried to figure out what was wrong with me. "What are ya thinkin' about?" He asked. "Death." I answered with no hesitance. "Why the hwll are ya thinkin' about death?" Shrugging my shoulder I drew out my revolver just in case i had to use it for something. With one more strange glamce from Daryl he took my hand and led me into the house we would be staying at for the night. We sat in the living room and Daryl was drinking a bottle of beer slumped against a wall. He took a sip eyeing me carefully. flashes of Dallas and his group filled my head.Mumbling a few curses i shook my head violently trying to get their damn faces out of my head. In a moment I felt hands cupping my face. "Hey!" Daryl yelled getting my attention. He was squatting down in front of me and I looked at him intently. "Whats wrong?" He asked. "The visions of death again. Why do those keep filling my damn head?" I exclaimed. What purpose did the death have anyway? Its not like anybody was dying. Taking a heavy breath he kissed me on the lips. shaking his head he stood up.
"Don't pay attention to it Wynter. They don't mean anything. Nothing's going to happen to you or Skylar while I'm around got it?" He reassured me. "I know it's just death is always here. When it's people's time to go they go. It's inevitable, and knowing that i worry that something will happen to Skylar or the group or you. 7 years ago it was easier to predict what would happen and how long you had left to live. My point is maybe the dreams are predicting that something bad's going to happen." Daryl stared at mw blankly for a moment.
"Wynter i knew you were craxy before I justhad no idea you were crazy now. The dreams; They Ain't mean anything. Ya can't worry about it ." Glaring at him I crossed my arms. "Fine whatever. I'm sorry." He shrugged and we both went to bed. But only Daryl could sleep that night......
