Arabella was suddenly jarred from her sleep by an ear-splitting screech, released by none other than her closest friend, Jaqueline. Arabella couldn't help the smug smirk that made its way onto her face at the sight of the alpha attempting to keep his mate on his lap and clutch at his no doubt ringing ears at the same time.

Once Jaqueline had calmed down enough to think rationally she nearly tackled Arabella, she probably would have if the alpha didn't still have one arm wrapped securely around her waist. After giving a swift glare to her captor Jaqueline began to talk so fast that it was nearly indiscernible, " Oh my goodness, sorry I started screaming, I just sort of freaked. I saw the blood on the back of your head and you looked like you were dead and this creep won't get himself off of me and I don't know where we are and I'm just really confused."

Suddenly Jaqueline's eyes filled with tears and the alpha's quickly widened as he began to nod frantically at Arabella to do something, no doubt wanting his mate to calm down. Arabella was unsure what to do, but seeing as the alpha didn't seem like he would do any better Arabella attempted to calm her down, " Jaqueline, it's alright, here, set her down." After a mini glaring contest, the alpha reluctantly set his mate down in the seat between himself and Arabella and removed his arm from her waist.

Jaqueline quickly wrapped her arms around Arabella causing her to sit there stunned for a minute. Her friend must be really shaken up, she wasn't usually very touchy-feely. Soon she began to whisper to Jaqueline, " Don't worry about anything, alright. We're going to go with him. But he won't hurt either of us, okay?" Jaqueline nodded slowly and sat back down in the seat that she was in.

The alpha looked incredibly relieved and asked Jaqueline warily, " Would you like anything while we're stopped?" It was only then that Arabella realized that they had stopped at a gas station and the driver was outside filling up the car with gas. Jaqueline shook her head no slightly and the alpha quietly got out of the car and headed inside of the small convenience store leaving Arabella and Jaqueline alone.

As soon as the alpha was no longer visible Jaqueline spoke up fiercely, " Come on Arabella, we're ditching this creep." Arabella's eyes widened slightly, both in surprise that she didn't feel the mating bond begging her to be close to him, and also because she definitely sounded like a luna at that moment, taking complete control of the situation, and she knew that the moon goddess had chosen well.

But she couldn't allow Jaqueline to leave. She understood when the alpha had expected her to calm down her friend that the alpha wasn't worried about the humans searching for Jaqueline. Arabella was expected to help Jaqueine get used to her mate, and keep her by his side until she accepted him. Arabella was frustrated with her naivety in believing that the alpha would care what some humans believed, pushed aside the feeling that she was betraying her friend and insisted, " No. Jaqueline, we have to stay. If you try and leave I can guarantee that he'll find you. Just trust me, ask him to tell you why he took you, and if he doesn't tell you after you ask I will."

Jaqueline looked shocked, then angry, and finally settled on a look of determination which stayed on her face until the alpha returned and raised his eyebrows in silent question as to what they had been talking about while he had been gone. Arabella quickly spoke up before Jaqueline could ask the question she had carefully planted in her mouth, " Jaqueline has agreed to stay with you if you tell her the truth." Arabella gave a quick nod to Jaqueline and she angrily turned to him and demanded to know why he had taken her.

The alpha gave Arabella a quick look of betrayal to which she merely shrugged. She believed firmly that she had no obligation towards him, and that her friend deserved to know the truth if she is to be expected to stay with him and serve as his luna. He gulped quickly before facing his mate again and simply responded, " I'll tell you as soon as we arrive." Jaqueline pouted out her lips and slumped down in her chair, clearly upset that she was being left out of the loop.
