I Love You

Free Verse —

'I love you,' it's such a simple term
Nowadays people seem to have forgotten
How deep a meaning those three words hold
I know I love being with you, I love laughing at your jokes
And I love staring deep into your eyes
But I don't know if I love you
We're so young and 'I love you' means I wanna be with you in our old age
'I love you' means I don't just want you to know my story
It means I want you in it, I want you to be my story
It means I don't just love you more than anything else in the world, it means you are my world
But the world is so big, how am I supposed to know you are my world
If I've never really seen it?
And why would I say 'I love you' when there is a chance you don't feel the same?
Why would I say I love you to the moon and back of you don't even know how deeply I mean it?
Maybe I'll say it someday
But for now, I just wanna enjoy your company
And before I promise you my heart, I'm gonna explore the world I'll be promising you
