Review on Musicals I've seen

Kind of spoilers so yeah

Also this is a long review so just a heads up.

Saw: on broadway & broadway HD

Rating: 100/10

I just-

This is my favorite musical.

And not because of the songs ((weird thing to say when you're referring to your favorite musical))

But because of the story.

Holy shit this story is AMAZING!!!!

It's basically about this shoe factory (price and son) that's going out of business because nobody wants to buy their shoes anymore (they'd rather buy cheap short lasting shoes than expensive high quality ones)
And one day Charlie (lead) meets Lola/Simon (lead) and Lolas performance heels keep breaking because they can't support the weight of a fully grown man (Lolas a drag queen lol I probably should have mentioned that earlier) so Charlie is like ooh idea! And makes custom made "kinky boots" for Lola that can support her weight and so they start selling them n stuff.

Can we just talk about the opening number tho? Like
The most beautiful thing in the world the most beautiful thing in the world charlieee that I knoowwww I knoowwwwww

(They're literally talking about shoes. Yes you read that right. Shoes.)

Ok. Characters:

Lola is literally so iconic and hilarious she could slap me and I'd thank her!
Callum Francis played Lola when I went to see it on broadway and when he said the line "Ladies, Gentleman... and those who have yet to make up their minds..." HE WINKED AT ME!!

I WAS IN THE SECOND ROW AND HE WINKEDDD AT MEEEE!!!!!!

HE WINKED AT ME RIGHT WHEN HE SAID "and those who have yet to make up their minds."!!!!!

OMFG I WAS LITERALLY BEAMING AFTER THAT!

Also,,,, the day we say it, it was Callum's last show as Lola. And he was FANTASTIC!!!!! I love him soooo much omg

Ok Charlie is a fine character. I kinda don't like him as much as I would tho because he was kinda a dick to his fiancée, Nicola, who didn't do anything wrong btw!!

Omg Lauren is like. Wow. I mean her character doesn't really have a lot of depth, which I'm sad about.
All you know about her really is that she has a crush on Charlie and she doesn't really know what to do because she's been there before. See "History of wrong guys"

"Women have been making bAd choices,,, since the beginning of TIME. Are u gonna be another one of mine?"

"But I've been here before. Have I come back for more? Another chapter in the history of wrong guys!
You used to be so eh. A limp lackluster bore.
But now your changing into something I just can't ignooooreee-" the drums are so good here omg.

*big inhale* "CHARRRRRLEEHHHHHHHHH! HONESTLYYYYYYYYYY!!! IVE BEEN HURT LIKE THIS BEFOOOOOOOOOOOOOREEEE!!"

Also during that song she takes this blowy air thing (idk they use it to make shoes ig) and uses it as this fan like thing to blow air in her face and make it more dramatic.

I love history of wrong guys because it's really a comedic song but if the actor portrays her wrong or makes it seem tacky and cliche then it ruins the entire song but if you get an actor who's super extra and goes all out and who's super funny it'll make the song just that more hilarious.
