Greetings, Dear Friend:

As always this early draft is written for later experimental narration and has masses of emdashes and other odd phrasing and grammatical marks, which exist for that audio and it isn't really palatable in it's text (or the TTS) version yet. [I tend to write in odd repetitive circles when I'm trying to create the 'vibe' for stories I 'feel', especially in the first five or ten chapters before the thing straightens out even a little... and I won't likely edit for a year or more even after the last chapter's done.]

So forgive me dear friends!

This story is especially wonky if you use the TTS, because so much of the language is the work of the Bogh swamp creatures. It just doesn't work. I wouldn't advise relying on TTS for this one.

Please try to overlook these oddities here, but if you could, find the story below all of that. I would love, love, love your spontaneous reader reactions to help me make this and any of my stories much better!

These Short Stories from Hole in the Woods are character stories, written about some of my favorite side-folk from four of my cornerstone prequels or full length underway books: Dragonfly Web: Whitestuff, Yellowhair, Fae Perspective & Mobius Alliance. It will be years before I'm able to complete the whole project I set out to build, but in the meantime, I hope you'll enjoy one of the more fanciful 'shorts', most of which really so far aren't prooving that short. ;/

This one—Hettie's story, in draft wound up at 35K, and is about how Kreelah's missing Aunt Hettie came to be 'the woman in the wall' found but not 'seen' in Yellowhair, Ch.21, Season One. (Yellowhair: Wildchild will be Season Two of the podcast, hopefully written and finished this winter of 2020-21).

Cheers from me here,

≈ Wez ;)
