What, they didn't die? Oh, wait, here's what really happened.

So, when the gyarados smashed the boat ( in literal sense, you perverts ), the two of them freaked out a little. And when they were done doing so, Kirlia pulled a piece of the wooden floor away using her powers, and they got on this raft. The gyarados shot a hyper beam at the sinking ship creating big waves in the process. Then they died.

What, are you not satisfied? Okay, I think I get it. Let's say that they somehow held onto the raft, and we'll start from there.

Kirlia and Frank were sitting back to back on the small "raft". The sun was already showing up on the horizon, so they were adrift for quite some time. They sent Dustox out at the start to look how far the shore is, but he hasn't came back yet. Kirlia was afraid that something bad happened to him, but Frank suspected that he simply escaped. Of course, he didn't say that out loud. Time will show whether he was right or not.

So close to ending it, and then this happened. Why? What did she do to deserve it? She only wanted to have a normal life, a family, a home. For the second time, everything was taken away from her. But she needed to stay strong because someone had to take care of Zangoose. He lost all hope a long time ago, and she was there to rebuild it for him. That was part of the reason why he hasn't kicked the bucket by now.

They thought about releasing Zangoose, but they figured out that there was no point in doing so. He would only get angry and make the atmosphere even more tense than it was right now.

- You know, since Dustox's gone, you can get in his pokeball if you want - Frank suggested. - I've never been in one, but it's probably better than sitting here.

- Thanks, but I don't want to - Kirlia said. - I don't want to leave important decisions up to you. Sorry.

- That's understandable.

And so they were sitting there, tired, hungry, angry. I would love to ( not really ) describe the following hours of their thoughts, of how they were arguing over minor things, and other very interesting stuff like that, but I think I'm going to skip directly to when they reach the coast. If you're unsatisfied by this, write a complaint, or try to write a book yourself.

Kirlia was looking at the water below them for a long time. Like, really long. Occasionally, she could see some fish swimming across, mocking her by existing. She could easily kill them, but what was the point? They'll just keep coming back.

Out of curiosity, she looked up at the horizon. They probably had a long way to go, and she just wasted energy for no reason...

She could see the shore.

- Holy fff... Frank, wake up! - she avoided cursing in an original way.

- Sleeping is death without commitment - Frank said and only then looked the way she was looking. - Cool. How are we gonna get there?

- Cool!? We've been sitting here for hours, and your response to finally getting out is "cool"!?

- It was bound to happen to show up eventually - he explained. - By the looks of it, we still have about an hour to go.

- Shut up, I think I can teleport us over there - Kirlia remembered how annoying he was.

- Not again...

Before he could protest anymore, the two of them have already disappeared in a flash of light and appeared on the beach on the western side of the lake.

This shore was not inhabited by humans, and was covered by vast forests. Pokemon weren't aggressive here, at least not as much as near Javero city, but the jungle terrain was hard to make use of by the cities on the north east, so humans went further north to the plains leaving the forests alone. Everyone was happy, right? We'll see about that.
