I was so naive

Legends say that pokemon appeared after humans. It wasn't through the process of evolution, one does not simply get the ability to breath fire or use magic. Instead, it's written that they got created.

Thousands of years ago, before the first civilizations started to pop up,  humans were the only specie of animals on Earth, or at least the only "normal" one. You see, a powerful creature lived among them. Some ancient texts call it a god, some simply call it a ghost. Either way, it had a huge impact on the world, bigger than any other living thing has ever had. Will all of its power and wisdom, it could easily rule over these mindless apes. One finger snap, and it would become the last specie on Earth.

But it never hurt anyone. It didn't even let them hurt each other. Humans were breaking that rule everyday, but no matter how many times they did that, the legendary being kept trying to convince them that they don't have to, and that they shouldn't. It was the only thing that stopped humans from killing themselves, and yet they hated the creature. Why? Because it had something they didn't have. Power. It was a god, and they were nothing compared to it. I wonder why this sounds so familiar...

They wanted to have that power for themselves. Not because the creature was a threat, but because they wanted to be a threat.

So what did humans do? They did the most human thing that could've ever been done. While the being was sleeping, because gods also need to rest every now and then, one of them casted a curse on himself. It made him able to physically hurt it, but it's called a curse for a reason. The cost of it isn't important right now, just remember that it's something bad. Anyway, he sneaked up to the unaware creature and stabbed it in the heart with his primitive dagger. It immediately woke up, but it was too late for it to save itself. With its last bits of power, the legendary being turned almost all of its mystical energy into creatures, commonly knows as pokemon. The rest of it got scattered across the atmosphere, commonly known as psychic energy, since it's mostly used by psychic pokemon. I guess you could say that he should've gone for the head.

The being died, but newly created animals contained bits of its power. Humans were scared. Their protector was dead, and they didn't even get its energy. There were a lot of weird creatures everywhere, and everything was going downhill. With no one taking care of them, they started having bigger and bigger conflicts. Everyone quickly forgot about the legendary creature. Everyone but one person. The one who killed it.

He felt kind of guilty, which was understandable, so he tried to fix the situation. He buried its body, prayed for forgiveness, all that stuff. It was pointless, he killed it with his own hands, no one heard his prayers. After a while he realized that there was nothing he could do. He fucked the whole world up, and nobody even remembered. Being distraught, he decided to end his life with the same dagger.

Nobody remembered him, either. Not even the legends. Though legends mention something else. They say that when someone tries to harness the creature's energy again, it will come back to life and end the human race. The only way to stop it is to YOU CAN'T STOP THE INEVITABLE. I WILL COME BACK AND KILL YOUR GREEDY ASSES. YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE SMART, DIDN'T YOU? BITCH, I'M. A. GOD. YOU CAN'T KILL ME.
