Rifted away

Chapter two

"Alex! The bowl of crisps is almost empty!" Willow said. "Coming right up ma'am." Alex answered. He picked up the now empty bowl and walked towards the kitchen. He had almost filled the bowl again, when he heard a loud noise. It sounded like a earthquake to him, but looking back, that must have been the silence that made noise louder. He dumped the bowl of chips onto the kitchen table and ran to the living room as fast as he could. There he saw Willow, scared, eyes widened. Lukas, petrified on his mattress. Lucy, laying on her mattress, eyes closed like she was dead. LIKE SHE WAS DEAD?! He jumped towards Lucy and started commanding Willow: "Willow! I want you to grab a mug of water! Bring it to me asap!" "No, no, it is fine, nothing wrong with me..." Lucy said weakly. "Oh thank god you didn't die!" Alex almost screamed in her face. Lucy spoke back to him while pointing to the right side of the room:"Yeah, no, thanks for the attention, but we have a bigger problem over there."

Alex looked at what Lucy was pointing at. He almost petrified as well. It was like a huge rift in the air. Bright white light was coming of it. Willow whispered: "It's like a portal..." "What could be inside?" That was Lukas, who had woken up from his petrification. Lucy tried to answer his question, but failed miserably: "Well...Maybe...I don't know. Maybe we should check it out! We are still wearing our daily clothing..." "Yeah! Let's do this!" Everyone said in unison. Except for Alex. He was just looking very sceptical. "You guys know that in literally every book or movie to ever exist the people in the book say exactly that and then they just...Die." Alex said. "I mean, come on, a big space rift shows up and you don't know what will be inside you are just like: well, here I come! Isn't it a little bit suspicious at all?" "Alex, stop overthinking! I know the nerd inside you wants to investigate it, but come on, adventure? How can you not!" Lucy said. "Oh, and dudes, you have really got to make the choice fast" Lukas said. "Why? I think Alex is right! It could be really dangerous and we have to think this through!" Willow replied. "But guys, we have not got forever, you know." "Of course not, we will die one day! But that is kind off far into the future, I hope" Alex responded, now talking pretty annoyed. "But Alex," Lukas said calmly, "The rift is closing."

"What? You didn't tell us before?" Lucy screamed angrily. "No, because you guys were too busy arguing!" Lukas replied. "You are right, I am sorry Lukas," Lucy said, "What are we going to do?" "I don't know." Alex responded. "I do, let's go!" Willow said, while grabbing Lucy, who grabbed Lukas, and Lukas grabbed Alex. Then Willow jumped through the rift, pulling a teenager-chain after her.
