pain shot through my heart as he shook slightly. i scared him by being careless. i bit my lip as i contemplated my next words carefully, not wanting to make it worse.
"i'm not here to hurt you. i'm genuinely worried." he looked up at me and our eyes met again.
i noticed him becoming less tense and instantly felt relieved.
"you don't have to talk. i just want you to know that i want to be there for you." i confessed.
the more i looked into his eyes, the more i wanted to see him smile. it was an impossible wish, or so i thought. because in the next second he slowly smiled. my heart jumped in my chest and my cheeks turned a light shade of pink. he smiled.
