'At first I didn't believe it either. But the gods of Olympus are real, and sometimes these gods have children with humans, called half-bloods. I'm one of them. I'm Ozean Jackson, daughter of Poseidon, the god of the sea. Seven years ago, four of these children were headed to camp half-blood, the only place on earth that is safe for our kind. Only three of them made it. Her name was Thalia, and she gave her life to save three. And so as Thalia lay dying her father Zeus found another way for her to live. A way for all half-blood's to live. A gift to ensure no one at Camp Half-blood would die the same way. The barrier, to protect them from those who lived for their death. Every day the story of Thalia's bravery inspires me and my brother, Percy. And her tree, protects our home. But not always my brothers head.'

Percy was being stupid again trying to prove himself. Awhile back camp started doing these competitions to 'help train us' but now its just for the meatheads who love competition. Like Clarisse, she's Ares' daughter, god of war. Her and Percy have been at each other's throats since we got back from saving Olympus. Lately Percy has been feeling like we're just 'One Quest Wonders' it doesn't help that Clarisse also tells him that. Dad has been kinda ignoring us, despite what he said at Olympus and Percy is getting super bummed out. As for me, it took awhile to get over Luke's death but i'm fine now. I took solace in finding my weapon and training. Actual training, not the mamby pamby stuff the others do for attention but actual, up at dawn, work out till you pass out, hidrate or diedrate, hard ass work. I found that I work best with a bow and arrows and the bowstaff, of course I also train with water but that's more of a superpower than actual skill. Perc and Clarisse both jumped into the arena as me, Ann and Grov cheered him on.

"Yeah, go Percy!" Ann shouted.

"C'mon Percy, I got fifty drachma on you." Grov yelled and we both gave him a stern look.

"You bet on this?" I asked placing my hands on my hips.

"What? Is that wrong?" Grov asked and I rolled my eyes. Clarisse pushed the sticks in making it so that Perc fell and he pulled one that was under her foot making her fall. Perc was almost there when some dude got his foot caught in the rope ladder. I saw the look on Perc's face and I knew exactly what he was about to do. Perc ran and jumped over the ledge, grabbing on and doing a backflip down the structure to the bottom level and landing on his stomach. He started pulling the rope up finished helping the dude when he got hit by one of the punchers and fell to the ground, flat on his back.

"Percy!" Ann called and we ran over to him as Clarisse pulled out a red marker and won. Everyone cheered and the confetti launchers went off as we made it to Perc. Clarisse slid down the ropes and walked over as we helped Perc up.

"So Percy, what I'm wondering is, that first quest you went on. Beginners luck wasn't it?" Just because I don't let her get to me doesn't mean that she doesn't get to Perc.

"Clarisse, he's saved Olympus, that's more than you've ever done." Ann said and Clarisse pushed through us muttering a whatever.

"Even for the daughter of the god of war that girls a mythic bi-." Grov began to say but I cut him off.

"Don't listen to her Perc." I said and pulled a few strands of my black hair out of my face.

"It's too late, and besides, she has a point." Perc stated as we started walking and Grov jumped in front of him.

"What are you talking about man, your more than one quest wonder." Grov went on and listed a couple of things that he thought Percy did but we corrected him because everything that he listed was actually done by Clarisse.

"Thank you for trying to cheer me up." Perc said exasperatedly.

"I would like a pair of cloven hooves before I let you listen to Clarisse and not us. No offence Grover." Ann said and I agreed with her,
