Warning me about what? He'd become slightly curious about what this girl had to say.

"There's someone who keeps targeting teenage girls from our school. Not most are told about it, so the majority aren't too worried. They think it's just at random, but I'm not that oblivious." Her words came out slow as if she was hesitant.

"There is?" Yoongi asked, looking significantly shocked. "What does this have to do with your injury?" He genuinely asked.

Yoongi hoped his act was convincing enough. It was difficult to adjust his voice too. On the bright side, he had an actual reason to not talk to people. It was his excuse until the voice adjuster was sent to him.

The girl, Hae Won, frowned.

Yoongi creased his eyebrows before it clicked. "Were you... attacked?"

He was certain of this fact. She was definitely a victim.

The problem was why she wasn't on the list of victims? There were both fatally injured and people who weren't injured by the killer on that list. What made her any different? Why doesn't he remember her face?

She let out a breath before briefly nodding. "Yeah, you're right," she confirmed, "Got slashed right across my leg, but I managed to escape."

Yoongi didn't know how to feel. What was he supposed to say to that? He felt awkward. He could see she was traumatized by the experience. There were signs like the way her hand unconsciously gripped her pants' material. Despite the subtle signs - that she desperately wanted to hide - she stood confidently next to him. Hae Won reached out to him, so she could help Min Yoon Ji.

He'd felt amazement, but he remembered she was one of those rich people. That was the reasoning behind him restraining himself from getting too friendly or exploring his sense of respect for her.

Albeit, it still bothered him enough to question her. "Didn't you report to the police?" He asked. "Couldn't they have helped you?" He gave a follow-up question just to seem more in character.

Her response was an odd one that Yoongi recognized as a chuckle. "No way would I do that. What's the point in reporting it?"

Yoongi didn't say anything. Indeed, he thought her reasoning was puzzling. He couldn't understand even if he tried.

"I didn't see his face; they wouldn't do much or press charges either," she explained, "Plus, they wouldn't take someone like me seriously - even if I have the money. I'd rather not use it to be favored by the authorities though."

'Someone like me'?

What was meant by that? He didn't bother asking her that question. It seemed like something personal and he wasn't too keen on snooping into her business. In fact, he didn't want to speak to her either. Yet here he was, speaking to her and he somehow kept a conversation with this Hae Won.

"Anyway, I think I've said what I wanted to. Wouldn't want to waste your time any further. Goodbye," she greeted nonchalantly with a bow. Quick to the point, she was.

"Uh, wait a second," Yoongi called. He swallowed and couldn't quite make eye contact.

This was a witness that was not put on the list. It would be wise to stay in contact with the girl. Not only that, but she could be targeted even now. Yoongi wasn't an idiot. He might act like an idiot to fool people - and to make them not talk to him - but he wasn't. "Could we stay in contact? I'd feel bad to separate like this," he said, acting sheepish. Following that act, he tried his best to smile in a friendly way.

Hae Won narrowed her eyes at him.

"I know that I was the first one to confront you, but now you want my number?" That's what Yoongi expected to hear from a BH High School student.
