the sun peeked through the clouds, with it coming a tumult of insanity. paul was absent from school today, a new boy had shifted a week ago he said, but sam wanted his two betas on patrol as the cullens' were staying home from school today. paul warned phoenix to keep a close eye on embry call.

the small girl easily spotted embry in the halls. it was hard not to notice the toned guy that everyone was whispering about. phoenix felt strangely drawn to him, her heart deciding that embry had a previously empty place to stay in. she waded through the whispering crowd, pushing slightly to get to the boy.

once she reached him, a lot of the whispers stopped. she had only tapped his shoulder once before he spun around, a slightly aggravated look on his face. the minute their eyes connected, a small gasp came from embry. he felt his heart beating twice as fast, his body yearning to wrap the girl in a tight embrace and never let go. his world seemingly changed it's axis and started to spin around her soul and his. his inner wolf howled happily, his face unconsciously smiling brightly.

"i found you." he whispered under his breath, his eyes never leaving her beautiful face.

it was only when whispers started again, this time involving the girl in front of him and a certain pack member of his, that he was jolted out of his stupor.

that's paul's girlfriend. you know, paul lahote. you think he knows that his girlfriend just had a staring contest with the newest member of the cult?

she's moving onto embry now? watch her go after sam uley and jared cameron next.

embry growled lightly under his breath before focusing his attention on phoenix, "you wanna go somewhere away from the gossipers to talk?"

"sure," she whispered quietly.

he led the way to a rarely used classroom. they each sat down at a desk, phoenix looking at him strangely, "so i have two imprints now? what the fuck, ancestors?"

embry thought he heard her wrong, "sorry, you said two imprints?"

"yeah. paul was the first one." she said it so nonchalantly that embry felt his heart break a little. it cracked even more when he realized that the beautiful girl in front of him was paul's best friend long before she was his imprint. she was going to reject him now, it was inevitable. but then she smiled, and oh god was she beautiful. he couldn't let her go, doing that would ruin him. phoenix could guess the thoughts running through her second imprint's mind. and she put a stop to them.

"em, don't worry. i'll find a way to be with both of you. paul doesn't like to share the things he loves, but i'm not letting you go and he can deal with it. he knows what happens when an imprint rejects their other half."

that was all embry needed to hear before he wrapped her in a tight hug, refusing to let go. "thank you."

phoenix kissed the soft skin of his neck, "i won't let you go. ever."

the wolf shivered and placed his lips on the apple of her cheeks. they stood up from their seats, and phoenix gave her second imprint a mischievous look, "you wanna ditch?"

"do you even have to ask? let's go."

she pulled him by the hand, ignoring the whispers and stares of the mass of students, and walked out the doors of la push high school. they climbed into phoenix's truck. embry watched her drive, transfixed by her and her existence. there weren't enough words in the english vocabulary to convey his already developing feelings. he'd heard about how sam fell almost instantly in love with emily and while he couldn't claim he was at that stage yet, he was pretty damn close.

she drove them to first beach, turning off a bit farther than the usual parking places. getting out, she started walking, "i want to show you something."

they walked for awhile, heading for a fairly tall rock structure. embry thought she would start climbing, but she ducked off to the side, twisted three random rocks in a specific pattern, pulled up a wooden plank, and seemingly descended into the ground. he followed her movements and found she was actually going down a tunnel. they walked for around five minutes before steadily going upwards. they ended up in a small cove-like area. scattered around the walls were paintings and faded swirls of writing. the mouth of the cave had crystals of all different colors and white sand covered the ground. embry looked around in awe. he felt slightly childish, but he couldn't help it, the cove was amazing. fish swam in the water leading to the ocean outside.

"this is where i go when life becomes too much."

"it's beautiful." embry breathed. he felt like talking much louder than a whisper would upset the tranquility of the cove.

phoenix smiled serenely, "yeah, it is."

embry turned to look at her, the thin rays of sunlight highlighting her delicate features, her eyes closed and black lashes fluttering against her russet skin, her innocent smile, everything about her. he craved her touch, wanted, no, needed, to know what she was thinking. she scooted over a bit, resting her head on his broad shoulder. his skin, already as warm as a heater, seemed to skyrocket in temperature. she smiled, drowsily, up at him, pressing another kiss to the base of his neck.

"thank you for being here with me."

"no, thank you, for giving me a chance."

"no matter what happens, em, i will never reject you and paul will just have to deal with it. i have both of you and i'm never letting you two go."

embry kissed the top of her head, before pulling her in between his legs, her back against his chest, "you are a dangerous creature, ms. longfeather."

"trust me, i know."

aaaaaaaaah omigod they are my babies and i love them so much and omg i love paul and phoenix too, you guys have literally no idea how much i love them and want them to be happy. anyway, really quickly, she's not pulling a bella-bitch and choosing one while stringing the other along. she's going to be with both of them equally and jacob as well when he phases. they'll understand that because she has a supernatural connection to all three of them so if she rejects one or two of them, she'll feel immense pain as will the wolf(s) she rejected. but she won't because she loves them all equally. did that make sense? okay, thanks for reading you guys! love you so so so much!
