taehyung was flying over the boys, looking down as he made sure no more of the men where behind them. he watched as yoongi pushed the group of men back with air and proceeded to pelt large rocks at them. he watched jimin throw whatever he could and he made sure the others who ran up ahead didn't get hurt, but who was watching him?

everyone including himself figured since he was up in the air flying in zigzags he would be fine. when the bullet sounded it took taehyung's body a minute to register the pain that shot through his wing.  then another sounded and he felt more pain ripping through his abdomen before he found himself plunging down towards the earth.

all at once, his back hit the rocky ground beneath him. his lungs suddenly felt like knives were slicing through them with every breath he took, his ears ringing loudly but not loud enough to not hear his elder brothers distraught  voice shouting his name.

he couldn't decipher which pain was worse, the literal hole in his wing and abdomen or the fact he knew almost 100 precent that he was in fact about to die.

hoseok ran up to the shooter while taking off his glove, not thinking about the intimate danger he was putting himself in. the shooter attempted to aim his gun at hoseok, only to feel a cold hand grip the same hand roughly.

hoseok hair burned an ashy grey as he felt the mans life slowly slip into his grasp. he had promised himself long ago that he wouldn't steal a life even if he was forced. who knew he wasn't good at keeping promises.

meanwhile, namjoon had run to taehyung, quickly pulling off his own shirt and pushing it down onto the bullet wound. the younger blonde haired boy shouting out in pain before he started to laugh uncontrollably.

" joonie-hyung im okay. i'm gonna be okay " tae laughed in between words before coughing.

" you know you were never good at lying tae." namjoon said pushing down on the blood soaked shirt. taehyung groaned, beads of sweat dripping down his forehead, the life in his eyes dulling as he cough again. the world around him continued to spin rapidly and in turn he closed his eyes to try and ease the ride just a little bit.

" taetae, hey-" namjoon shook the younger while the other boy's gave each other sad but knowing looks "- don't close your eyes alright, keep them open for me, please." namjoon pleaded.

in reality he knew his cries wouldn't do anything, he knew his pleas were useless. he knew taehyung was dying. taehyung opened his eye's again he smiled up at his brother.

" you're gonna be fine without me namjoon."

the words caused the tears that stung namjoon's eyes to come rushing down in a wave. he scolded taehyung for saying something like that, telling taehyung he would be just fine sounding almost as if he was convincing himself rather than his dying brother.

" I- im okay n-now hyung, im f-finally gonna b-be f-f-free." tae chuckled out before fully closing his eyes. his jagged breathing finally flattening out. the hands that held onto jimin and jungkook's softening its grip and his head finally falling to the side. namjoon didn't protest, he knew there was absolutely no point in doing so.

so he let out a loud pained scream as he gripped taehyung closer to his chest, holding what caused him the most annoyance, love, joy and pride in this world. he held his brother like he never had before.

jin knew better, he knew he shouldn't have. he knew what was meant to happen shouldn't be changed. and the butterfly effect was something he was afraid off, but the thought of namjoon living on without his brother by his side scared him more.

so he ignored what his gut had told him not to do. he went back,  to just before taehyung was shot down, finding the man who hid behind the tree was easy being that he remembered hoseok killing him.

that was another thing, he knew although hoseok was angry, he'd never forgive himself for breaking his promise, the younger already felt as if he was a monster, killing the man would only make him believe he was one.

he went back to protect them.

" TAE! MOVE OUT THE WAY!" jin shouted. tae complied and moved out of the way before coming down to the ground and chasing after jin who had run the opposite way towards the trees.

to say he was confused was an understatement.

"hyung what are you doing!" tae shouted. soon he found jin and watched in horror as the eldest tackled a gun man onto the ground and wrestled him with anger.

jin growled loudly in his throat before punching the guy in the face and knocking the mans gun out of his hand. the guy quickly head butted jin causing him to clutch his now bleeding nose and stumble backwards.

the guy turned on his stomach quickly trying to go for the gun, only for jin to step on his hand and pick up the gun.

you would think that would be the end right? yeah no shall we continue?

anyways, the guy grabbed jin's leg causing him to fall face first onto his already sore nose.

" aish! are you kidding me !" jin shouted feeling the pain throb in his face. the man climbs on top  of jin as both wrestle and tug the gun that now lied in between them. taehyung who stayed back watched feeling his heart beat drop once two gun shots sounded out and both men stopped moving.

the other boys who were standing shocked all had a face of fear but smiled softly once the guy slowly rolled off of jin. the gun had fired twice, one bullet hit the man straight in the heart and somehow straight into jin's shoulder but it managed to miss any arteries so in turn he was fine.

jin laughed, but let out a yell once he realized the blood on his shoulder belonged to him, and he had a hole in his shoulder. but he would take this over taehyung dying any day. he knew none of the boys knew that taehyung had died and jin went back and he didn't actually plan on telling them.

at least not until this mess was over. hoseok was the one to run over to jin and place a hand on his shoulder.

" jin, I can heal you-" hoseok hesitated. " but I need to get that bullet out first." hoseok said looking at the wound and internally cringing, blood wasn't his thing. jin nodded and took off his shirt. placing the fabric in his mouth and bracing himself.

" im gonna say sorry before hand." hoseok chuckled out. jin, who was expecting some kind of warning screamed loudly, sweat painted his skin and the grip he had on the Youngers thigh would surly leave a bruise.

yep, totally worth it.

hoseok successfully took the bullet out of jin shoulder and flicked the blood coated casing onto the ground before placing his hand over jin wound. unlike before, hoseok hair didn't change color, actually nothing gave a sign on if he was using his ability.

jin could only tell he was by the way he suddenly no longer felt the pain and by the tired look in hoseok's eyes.  when the raven haired boy healed another person he used some of his life form to do so. which explained the fatigued look.

" why didn't your hair turn silver." jin questioned out loud reaching for hoseok's hair. hoseok pulled away slightly confused.

" what? im not yoongi-hyung, hyung my hair doesn't change color." hoseok chuckled before standing up and pulling jin up with him.

their escape was almost over.
