3- the irony In the name hope

hoseok ran through the garden as fast as he could hiding behind the shed and laughing. This was how his Sundays normally went. he and his family would wake up , eat breakfast and within twenty minutes hoseok and his younger sister would be out and playing in the backyard.

" hope , c'mon your legs are faster than mine." his sisters voice sounded throughout the open space and hoseok found himself laughing fondly. Adora was seven , eager and full of life, just like himself. she practically mirrored everything hoseok did and unlike other older siblings , hoseok absolutely adored it.

he sat on the grass with a soft thud humming to himself as he waved for the short girl to find him but instead a hand gentle resting on his back caused him to look up.

" hoseok honey, go inside and get ready we're going to the park." his mother happily chirped as she watched her son get up and trail back into the house , her young daughter right behind him.

he quickly ran up the stairs to his bedroom changing into a slightly warmer outfit as winter had only ended a few weeks ago and the leaves on the trees were barley visible. He liked going outside despite it being a little chilly ,it was fun.

hoseok promptly ran back downstairs sitting down on the couch beside his mother who had her attention glued to the show on the tv. she also had brown hair , but paler skin compared to hoseok ,who took more after his fathers complexion. The two shared the same heart smile but other then that hoseok was a complete mirror to his father while adora mirrored their mother.

a few moments later said child ran downstairs happily skipping over to her mother and brother as she waited for them to get up.

" alright, alright , we're going." his mom said raising her hands up in defense as she walked towards the counter grabbing her keys and walking back towards her kids who were already outside the house door.

" OH WAIT!" adora shouted running back into the house before returning with something in her hand. she walked towards her confused older brother , grabbing his arm and placing the bracelet on it.

" ms. choi said we should make something for someone we found important , so I made u a bracelet." adora smiled before running off down the path to their mothers car. hoseok on the other hand stood dumbfounded infront of his house as he looked down at the wide bracket upon his wrist.

turning the thing in order to read the beading. 'hope world'. his confusion was replaced with a bright smile as he tighted the make shift bracelet around his arm.

"hope lets go!" His mother shouted , to which he replied " okiee." And ran after the two girls sitting in the car.

The drive to the park was short and simple , minimal conversation , unless hoseok's mother  asked a questions like " what are you learning in school?" Or " how's dance."  To which the thirteen year old responded

" fine."and "its fun , im the captain now."  When the car finally parked , adora was the first one to unbuckle her seat belt and run out of the car. Hoseok following right after and their mother sighing wondering how she ended up with not one but two hyper active children.

" slow down you two." she shouted before rolling her eyes knowing the two would completely disregard what she said and continue to play and run as fast as they wanted too.

" hope come push me." Adora giggle as she sat herself on the big girl swings and waited for her older brother to come push her . Hoseok rolled his  eyes and the demanding child before complying to her wishes and pushed the small girl.

" hey dori? Why do you call me hope?" Hoseok questioned. 'Hope' wasnt a new nickname for the teenager. The girl had been calling him that sis she could talk and no matter how much he said 'hobi' she would just shout hope. Eventually the name just stuck.
