"Draco. Draco. DRACO!" draco awoke to the smell of vanilla and new books. He smiled, but then realised who it was. "EW. Get off me you filthy mudblood. What are you even doing?i thought we agreed to not speak to each other." Hermione rolled her eyes. "You slept through breakfast and class starts in five minutes. Your welcome." She stormed out of his room, leaving Draco alone and confused. He stood up and raced to his bathroom. How had he slept in so late? He realised he didn't have time for a shower so he put on his robes and walked into the common room. Hermione was frantically searching her bag. He couldn't help but think she looked kind of cute freaking out like that. Wait. No ew. "Shouldn't you be at class." He said smirking as she hit her forehead with her hand. She glared at him. "Yes. But I've lost one of my books. He laughed. She was really this distressed about losing one book? "Think this is funny, do you." She said. She grabbed a pillow off the couch and wacked him with it. "Ow! What was that for?"
Hermione sniggered.
"For being you." He scowled at her, but it turned to a smile when he grabbed another pillow and wacked her with it. She laughed and aimed, but he was too quick and ducked. The pillow flung onto the wall, feathers going everywhere. Hermione fell onto the couch laughing, as the feathers settled into the ground. "Come on, we're already late." She picked up her bag and they headed off to potions.
"Miss granger, mr Malfoy! Your late.come, take your seats. Draco took a seat next to Blaise, while Hermione took hers next to ginny. "Where were you?" She whispered. "It was Draco wasn't it. What did he do now" she tried not to laugh. "Relax gin, we just had a pillow fight." Ginny looked taken aback. "A pillow fight...with tha-"
"Miss weasley and miss granger! Would one of you do us the honour of explaining what we were just talking about?" Slughorn said looking unimpressed. The two girls shook their heads. "Exactly. If it isn't to much to ask, I would like you to PAY ATTENTION." The class laughed. "Yes sir." They said together.
"Glad that's over." Harry said as they left for lunch. Ron nodded. They sat down at the Gryffindor table. "Attention students." Mcgonnagal said. "As a new year celebration, we have decided to hold a ball next week!" There was an uproar of applause from all the girls. "It shall be a masquerade ball, so everyone is required to wear masks."
"This will be so exciting!" Ginny exclaimed. "We HAVE to get some new dresses at hogsmeasde this week!" Hermione nodded.

A week later

It was the night of the ball. Hermione was in the girls common room in the Gryffindor common room. The past week hadn't been that bad with Draco. He still wasn't great to her, but he had stopped calling her mudblood and wasn't as mean to her anymore. Hermione looked at ginny. She was wearing a red dress, with rubies all over it. She had red lips and red heels on to. "You look....amazing!" She told her best friend. She looked in the mirror. She was wearing a pastel pink dress that came down to her knees, she had small golden heels, her hair was curled, and she had a small golden mask. "We both look amazing." Ginny said smiling. They left the dormitory and went down the stairs to meet harry, Ron and Rons date lavender. When Harry saw ginny, he just stared at her. You could easily tell he was in love. Hermione couldn't help thinking she wished someone would look at her that way. "Ready then?" Ron asked. They nodded then headed down the stairs.

Draco looked at himself. He was in a light silver tux with a green mask.he looked over at pansy, who insisted on helping him choose what to wear. She, however, was wearing a green top and skirt, both so short, he didn't think it counted as clothing. "Oh, Draco, you look so.....hot!" She smirked, twirling his hair. "Uh....thanks pansy." He said, giving her a fake smile. "What's miss granger girl doing tonight?" She asked. "She's staying at the Gryffindor common room for the night.why?" He asked. She smiled. "Oh....I....uh....have potions homework, and I was wondering if you could help me with it after the ball." Draco considered this. He hadn't done his either, so at least they could do it together. "Sure." He finally said. She grabbed his neck and pulled her mouth to his. He pulled away. "Let's....uh....get going then" he said awkwardly. She nodded, grabbed his hand and left the room. The great hall looked amazing! The sky was a magnificent sunset colour and there was food that he'd never even heard of set out on tables on the side. "Woah." Pansy breathed. "Yea I know." Draco nodded but turned around when he realised pansy wasn't talking about the decorations, but about a girl, In a pastel pink dress, light brown hair and a golden mask. Whoever she was, she was beautiful. "Let's dance!" Pansy insisted. Draco nodded and they walked onto the dance floor. He put his hand on her waist and she put hers around his neck. As they started slow dancing pansy whispered. "I love you" Draco didn't reply, because honestly, if he said it back he would have been lying. They both didn't say anything until some one tripped over pansys foot. "Watch where your going!" She scowled. As Draco helped her up, he noticed it was the beautiful girl he had seen earlier. She blushed then said "do you uh....want to dance?" Pansy looled mad. "No! I'm sorry but he's already taken. So keep your filthy hands off of of him you bi-"
"I'd love to." Draco cut in and he took her hand. They walked off, waving a confused looking pansy behind. "Sorry about that." He said putting his hand on her waist. She smiled then said "it's okay." She had this certain warmth about her, it made him feel like he was safe even though he had no idea who she was. After an hour or so of talking, dancing and laughing, she said. "Do you want to get some fresh air?" He nodded. He felt like he recognised her voice. Probably not. "I've had an amazing time," he said sitting on a bench. "Me too." She laughed. He saw her slowly lean in, so he did too, and before either of them knew it, their lips were on each other's. It felt like he was being electrified, nowhere near how kissing pansy felt. Slowly, they pulled apart. The only reason they had kissed was because they were in masks, they would probably never see each other again. "That was nice." She said. Draco nodded, then leaned in for more. Her lips were warm and tingly, she smelt like vanilla and new books. Wait a minute...........oh no. He knew who it was. It.....it was......Hermione. He was kissing Hermione....and.....and enjoying it. He pulled away slowly. "I..I have to go." He said getting up and running back to the great hall, ignoring hermiones "wait" 's. "Draco!" Pansy screamed, making everyone stare. "Come with me." She gripped his arm and led her up to his common room. "Password?" She asked. He could see she had been crying. "Time turner." The portrait swung open and she pulled him inside. "How...how could you dance with another woman!" She sobbed. "I....i" he tried to think of a good excuse. "Do you not love me?" She screeched. "No, no it's just that....that I didn't think you wanted to dance with me." He thought he sounded pretty convincing. Suddenly, pansy stopped crying. She took his hand and lead him into his bedroom. "Oh Draco, I will always want to be with you, I love you." She smiled. He didn't mean it, but he said it anyway. "I....i um love you to." She grinned even harder. "We should um start the homework then." He said awkwardly. She smirked. "Oh please Draco, I think we both know we don't want to do that." She flung her arms around him, kissing him more aggressively then she ever had before, he felt her play with his shirt, then slowly lift it up over his head. He knew she wanted him to lift her shirt up, so when he didn't, she did it herself. He didn't want to be here, he didn't like pansy like this. "Uh....pansy." He said, but she placed a finger to his lips. "Pan-" he couldn't finish his sentence because she pushed him into his back on his bed and sat on top of him. "Don't lie to yourself." She said before slowly pulling down her skirt. She pulled the button on his jeans down, but he had had enough. "Pansy, get off of me!" He pushed her off and she stood up. He realised now she was only in her underwear, and a see through bra. "Your such a creep! Your disgusting! Can't you see I don't like you?" He tried to put his shirt back on but she stopped him. "Come on Draco." She said trying to kiss him. "No, pansy it's over, please put your ugly clothes back on and leave me alone!" He didn't mean to sound so mean, but it just all came out. "But....drakie" she started crying again. He rolled his eyes and pulled her shirt over her. Luckily she put the skirt on herself. "Please, just leave." He said quietly. "Fine. But I want you to know....know that I love you." She opened the door and left. Draco sighed and laid down on his bed, thinking of a girl with light brown hair and eyes, a girl he hated, a girl he kissed.
