Draco awoke to find it was already 8:30. He had already slept through breakfast, and was about to miss his first class. "Crap!" He said. Panicking, he slipped on some jeans and ran into the common room to get his bag. When he walked in, he saw hermione reading. "What are you doing? class has ask ready started." Hermione looked up from her book and blushed. It was only then he realised he wasn't wearing a shirt. "Oh, so mr Malfoy does have a voice. Who knew?" She rolled her eyes. After the ball, he hadn't said a word to her, he didn't want her to ask him anything about it. "Anyway." She continued. "It's the weekend." Draco felt his cheeks turn a bright shade of red. Crap..... She laughed, a nice, bubbly laugh. He couldn't help think it was kind of cute. What. No! This is hermione granger, a mudblood. No way. He felt his stomach rumble, great, he wouldn't get to eat anything until lunch. "You must be starving," hermione said, as if reading his mind. He nodded. "I know where we can get some food, I'm quite hungry to." Why was she asking him to come with her? He thought he had made it obvious he didn't want to be seen with her. He was about to say no, but his stomach gave in. "Fine, but only because I'm starving. She smiled. "Of course." They walked out of the common room and into the great hall, there, hermione lead him into a small corridor. "Where are we?" He asked astonished. "You'll see." She replied, stopping in front of a small portrait of a bunch of fruits. She reached up and started rubbing the pear. "Um....what are yo-" he was interrupted because a door appeared out of nowhere. She opened it and walked in. Inside, was a humongous kitchen, and it must have been over 100 house elves. "Lila." Hermione called. With a 'pop' a small house elf, obviously a girl, wearing a small dress appeared in front of them. "Can Lila assist miss granger?" Lila said. Hermione smiled. "Yes. Can you please get us some breakfast." "Certainly miss granger." Lila walked over to the kitchen and started cooking. "Why are you so nice to them?" Draco asked. "What do you mean?" Draco rolled his eyes. "The house elves. Why are you so nice to them?" She looked as though he had offended her great ancestors. "I'll have you know." She told him. "House elves are helpful, kind and obedient, and should be treated with respect!" Her face turned red and she put her hands on her hips. She looked cute when she was mad. God! Stop thinking that. "You still going on about that spew thing?" Her face turned the colour of weasleys hair. "It's S.P.E.W not spew! Gosh!" He tried to hold it in but he couldn't help it, he let out a real, true laugh. She looked taken aback, but then she started laughing too. "Your food miss granger." Lila said, appearing in front of them. "Thank you." Hermione replied, giving Draco a 'you-better-say-it' look. "Oh um yea thanks." Hermione smiled. For some reason he was glad she had smiled at him. Hermione took the tray and they headed back to the common room. "I was not expecting that." She said, sitting on the couch and eating a piece of toast. "What, me being my usual a pleasant, thankful self." He smirked. "Oh yes, it's so like you." She said sarcastically. Draco sat down next to her. "You know." He said. "Your not as bad as I thought you would be, you DO have a sense of humour." She smiled. "Thank you." Draco laughed. "Hey, I know I'm hot and all, but don't go getting any ideas, I said not THAT bad." Hermione laughed. "Don't worry, I wasn't." She said plopping a blueberry into her mouth. For the rest of the morning they just talked and ate. Hermione felt herself slowly growing to not mind Draco. When he wasn't in public, he was actually funny, still rude though, but surprisingly insecure. After a while Hermione said. "Ergh I have to do potions homework." She got up, grabbed her books and sat back down. "You know." She said. "I honestly don't get this." Draco looked amazed, then went back to his usual Malfoy smirk. "No!" He said sarcastically. "The brightest witch of her age not knowing something!" She laughed. "Here." Draco offered. He tried to put his hand on the paper, but he accidentally put it on her hand. "Oh...uh sorry." He said. She blushed and looked down. "Anyway." He continued. "What ingredient usually goes with unicorn hair." She thought for a while. "Is it.....Phoenix feathers." Draco did a dramatic sigh. "Goodness." He said. "I was beginning to think the brightest witch would get it wrong." Hermione threw her head back laughing. For some reason she seemed to be able to concentrate better with Draco. "Finally." He said when they had finished. Hermione stared at him for a moment, before saying. "You know, you didn't have to help me." He tried to think of an excuse, because for a strange reason, he actually just wanted to be with her. "I know. I just wanted to see if the brightest witch would get something wrong." He put on his usual Malfoy smirk. She gave him a cheeky grin, then started to walk to her room. "Oh and um...Hermione" he said as she started to enter the room. It was the first time he had ever called her that. It felt weird, but natural. She also seemed to be looking at him weirdly. "Yea?" Draco looked down, he could feel himself turning red. "I just wanted to say I'm uh...sorry for um the stuff I uh said...." He looked up. She smiled, nodded, then walked into her gryffindor inspired room.
