Chapter 3

  "Okay,see you soon" I whisper into my phone placing it back on my nightstand and going back to sleep.

  "Get up Becca" Josh's voice echoes through the house and I ignore him drifting back to sleep. By the time I get downstairs Josh is done with his breakfast and he's up ready to leave.

  "Let's go sleeping beauty" his voice rude and annoying. He just wants to get me pissed and I as well really want to do same to him.

  I take my seat taking time perceiving the scent of freshly pressed orange juice. When I'm done I look up at him with a smile at the corner of my lips "I'll be going to school with Danielle and her boyfriend this morning. Giving me time to enjoy the good places in front of me" I try my best to sound as sarcastic as I can

  His mouth falls open unsure of what to say but it's Josh,he always finds something unpleasant to spit out "why exactly are they picking you up?"

  "So that I don't have to depend on your stupid ass" I curse at him but before he can retaliate,my mom walks into the kitchen giving me a kiss on the head "morning mom" I greet her and she smiles widely at me

  "How was your night lovely?" She asks squeezing some more oranges into the jug.

  "I actually had the best sleep than I've had in a while" I eye Josh who's still standing there. I thought he wanted to leave for school. He just likes me miserable. "How was yours mom?" I return her caring question

  "It was great too dear. How was your bonfire last night?"

  That question makes me think of Skyler,I push the thought of him behind my mind "it was okay" I pick at my almost finished food

  She smiles "I'm glad about that dear. I'll go prepare for work now" she cups my cheek before going back up stairs

  I clear my throat when I receive a message on my phone. Danielle and Nick were already waiting for me. I give Josh a disgusted look "I thought you were in a hurry to leave" I make my words sting before pulling my bag off the the table and rushing out.

  "Morning" my voice is quite loud but I don't care. Nick shakes his head at me and Danielle puckers her lips at me as she turn to me at the back seat. "I'm so happy" I sat with a relieved sigh "I'm pretty sure I made Josh hurt this morning". Danielle laughs at my childishness and I grin looking out through the window.

  When we enter the school building,Danielle gives Nick a quick passionate kiss and I can't help but look at them through the side of my eyes. I feel a silly sting of jealousy but not in a bad way though. When they are done,she intwines her arm in mine and we walk to our lockers.

  "So there's this party coming up again..." she's saying and her voice slowly fades from my hearing when my eyes get caught by something or someone. Skyler is standing with his friends and they're talking but he's looking at me walk by. Our eyes meet and every thing is in slow mode. It's just like some high school romantic movie. I look away and try to act normal and get back into the conversation with Danielle.

  "What party is that?" I ask

  Her head snaps up to look at me "wait! What?!" She exclaims "you seriously haven't been listening to me have you?"

  "Sorry,I drifted off" I'm truly remorseful

  "Whatever! It's tonight at the beach...again"

  "Didn't we already do something there?" We reach our locker and I open mine

  "That was just a bonfire,this is a like a full wild party" she looks me deeply in the eyes
