For about three months, Jaelyn and I played musical chairs with that one seat. Most of the time the seat would be mine, but once or twice she would beat me to it, like today. I'd still end up sitting by her either way and she would give me this annoyed look like my presence bothered her. The late bell was about two minutes from ringing and I as usual, sat in my seat getting my supplies together ready for the day and Jaelyn would be resting her head on a small pillow readying herself for her nap.

My buddy Renard Shaw from the mathletes club walked over to discuss next months mathaton. I had to admit I was a little excited, it was one of the not so many places I didn't feel like a stick in the mud. I felt important because people depended on me and relied on me to do well and I most of, if not all of the time didn't let them down. "Franklin Fall is where regionals is being held this time." Renard pulled out a flyer and passed it to me. "Cool because I was tired of always going to Hudson Valley." I was excited until I saw who was standing behind Renard's chair.

Maverick 'MAC' Lewis or the school's as...jerk. He bothered people just to feel better about himself or at least that's what I concluded. Why else would you bully the whole school, unless you're bored. I never fought back because I wasn't a fighter and I couldn't afford that on my permanent record. Most of the time I just let him say his piece and then he walked away thinking he was victorious. He walked up to us with a smirk on his face. I look to Renard and he looked like he was ready to pee himself. "Yo Rush Hour get up so me and my boy can have theses seats." Him and two other guys laughed. Just like any other villain in movie he had his cronies. Renard jumped up and ran to the front of the class.

I had to admit the whole Rush Hour thing was kinda clever, but highly uncalled for. Mac has never sat in this corner ever, but like I said he was a bully. He probably spied Renard and I and wanted to start drama, but like before I wasn't about to let him get me in trouble. I would just have to give up my seat. As I got my things together, I could hear Mac and his friends laughing. I stood up and felt a hand on my elbow and was pulled back in my seat. "Take yo ass over there and have a seat. It's not like you're going to pass junior year anyways." Jaelyn was finally up. I was surprised she stood up for me, I thought she didn't like me and would be glad I would be gone from this seat.

"Man, you know you want this dick Jaelyn." He walked closer to us but sat on the edge of Jaelyn's desk like he didn't know personal space. She covered her mouth and pretended she was about to regurgitate. "Nah, I try to stay away from swine." A couple people turned around and laughed at Jaelyn joke, even I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face.

"Whatever BITCH, I don't want you anyways." He said the 'b word' with such intense hatred. Something ticked inside me. No matter how mad you got, you should never call a woman that. Just because she didn't want him after he said some vulgar, rude nasty things to her, she's that. I really didn't understand that logic. Take your lost and move on, be a man about it. "Suck my whole cock and balls nigga." Jaelyn yelled so loud I was surprised our teacher didn't hear or he just didn't want to deal with our crap this early in the morning.

He sucked his teeth, stood up from her desk and walked back over to his friends. Honestly I think if his friends weren't his friends I don't think he would have the courage to do half the things he does now. "Whatever bitch." I heard him say under his breath. I was tired of the constant disrespect. Jaelyn was abrasive most of the times but I was done with him using that word so loosely.

"Y-y-you sh-shouldn't call a-a w-woman th-that word." I probably didn't sound brave but it was the most I've ever said to Mac or anybody for that matter. I had to stand up for what I believed  in. "Egg Fu Yung finally speaking up. What word fu?" He stood in front of my chair and look down on me.

I stood from my chair proudly, adrenaline pumping. "D-do y-y-you kiss y-your mother w-with t-t-that mouth?" I still stuttered but I was glad I was finally kind of getting my point across. "Nah we don't do that incest shit over here." Mac pushed my shoulders, him and his friends crowd around, along with a few other classmates. "It's a f-figure of speech and r-rhetorical. T-then again I shouldn't be s-s-surprised you d-didn't unders-s-stand."

"Fuck you, I don't have to 'understand' none of that shit I got hands and since you got so much mouth how about you meet me after school across the street in that empty field." For the first time since this whole disagreement, I realized what just happened. I sat back into my seat, shocked. I felt nauseous." Why don't you fight somebody your own stupid, stupid." I looked over to the voice and saw Jaelyn in Mac's face. My heart leaped at her defending me and also at my fight after school.

"Nah I don't fight big bitches. You better be there K-pop. No sneaking off pussy." Him and his friends laughed, while those others around started chatting about the fight 'happening' after school. The bell rung and Mac and his friends walked away. Throughout class I could feel people staring at me. After the dismissal bell rung and class was over, which felt like two seconds.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked over to the source. "You know you don't have to do this Kung Fu." Jaelyn stood up and swung her bag over her shoulder. Of course I knew I didn't have too, but boy was I worried about the last bell. There was no way I was getting away with this one.
