It was the first time, this late at night
You needed my call, i needed your time.
I may not be able, to do as much
But what i am able, is to give you a tender hug.
First time i remember, when i heard you sleep
Your heartbeat still lingers, beats, softly in my ears.
You are what they call, a poor unfortunate soul,
But in sleep you're devine, as in cold winter morning is fog.
You don't even know, I am writing these words,
as you're sleeping softly, and i am silent and soundproof.
"Hush now, you poor little thing....
Everything will be better, I'll give my life for it."
You are not aware, how much peace you bring,
To my reckless useless mind, in todays time, during spring.
It's almost creepy, how i like to hear,
Your heartbeat, your breath, your everything.
It's so quiet, I'm afraid to move my sleeve
Afraid i shall disturb you in your long awaited sleep.
You so peaceful look, right now and again
I might need to reconsider....
Now i can't leave, yet so easly as i thought,
I'm afraid you'd wake and i, will be gone.
I want to be there, if you need me so
Please, be safe, don't wake until dawn.
Look at the time, our clock still is ticking
i can't just go, without my heart missing,
You, my friend, you are right there,
I'll wait till you wake, make sure you are safe.
