"NOOOOO!! KHALIL WAKE UP!! PLEASE WAKE UP!" I screamed from the top of my lungs. My brother was gone. The only person that had my back was gone.
"Ma'am please step away from the body."
"NO! Help him, pleaaaasssee help him!
"I'm sorry ma'am but he's already gone; there was nothing we could do." said the cop whose face had been blurred out by the pool of tears that had formed in my eyes.
My brother was really dead. I told him to stop hanging with those stupid niggas from 63rd street and now look.
The cops said it was a drive by at the block party my brother's friends were hosting. I knew I shouldn't have let him go.
Khalil was a smart kid when it came to school but he couldn't seem to stop hanging with Ray and his weed smoking brother Hari. I knew those niggas would be the death of him and I still didn't try hard enough to keep him away from them.
"Boom" the doors of the ambulance truck closing with my brother's lifeless body inside vibrated through my body. He was gone and now it was just me and my younger sister Camille. Would I be able to keep her outta trouble or will the streets take her too?
