    "By the way, I have yet to introduce my subordinates to you. They're also known as the Three Sages of Yunmeng," Jiang Cheng said and Lan Qinghui, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji looked towards the three individuals sitting around him. There were two male cultivators and one female cultivator, and all of them were clad in the trademark purple robes of the Yunmeng Jiang Sect. Each of them looked formidable and dependable and Lan Qinghui could sense strong spiritual energy coming from each of them. They were clearly powerful cultivators and that was why they were picked by Jiang Cheng to be his aides.

    The man sitting beside Jiang Cheng's right had a roughness to his appearance, but his sharp features were handsome and part of his hair was tied into a ponytail with the lower half let down, and braids similar to Jiang Cheng's lined the side of his head. While he looked young, he also had a very dependable aura about him. He bowed solemnly at Lan Qinghui, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji, as he said, "Good evening, HanGuang-Jun, Young Master Wei, Lady Qinghui. I am Yuan Tao, courtesy name Jiang Pingyuan. I am the second-in-command after Sect Leader Jiang. I oversee the sect's security and assist Sect Leader Jiang in all matters. It is an honor to make your acquaintance and I hope you enjoy our hospitality at Lotus Pier."

    Jiang Pingyuan's actions were extremely polite and his expression was extremely earnest. Lan Qinghui couldn't help but instantly feel a sense of trustworthiness for this person despite only having just met him. Truth be told, she had already seen the aides over the past week, but only from the junior disciples' table as they ate with Jiang Cheng and they all looked fierce and intimidating from a distance, not dissimilar to their sect leader. Now that she had the chance to meet them up close, she realised this was not the case at all.

    Upon hearing "second-in-command", Wei Wuxian raised his eyebrows and his lips curled into a smile.

    "So Pingyuan-xiong, you're Jiang Cheng's right hand man. Tell me honestly, is Jiang Cheng demanding? Does he scold you often? Does he use zidian on you? Is he hard to work with? Does he ask you to chase girls for hi......ouch!"

    Before Wei Wuxian could finish his list of questions, he felt a sudden pain on his thigh. Lan Wangji's face remained expressionless and his hands were placed on his thighs neatly, but Wei Wuxian knew that he had just pinched him and so gave him a dirty look.

Jiang Pingyuan smiled sheepishly and he scratched his head embarrassedly as he said, "No no, none of that, Sect Leader Jiang is extremely patient with us. We......"

"Yuan Tao, you don't have to entertain Wei Wuxian's nonsense," Jiang Cheng interrupted as he glared at Wei Wuxian. Lan Qinghui forced her laughter back down and maintained a straight face with much difficulty while watching the two interact. Jiang Pingyuan nodded and did not say anything else.

The next person, sitting across from Jiang Cheng, was a female cultivator of exquisite beauty. She held an aura similar to the late Madame Yu, Jiang Cheng's mother, whom Lan Qinghui had encountered once many years ago when she was a small child attending one of the discussion conference banquets hosted by the Gusu Lan Sect. Back then, Madame Yu had an intimidating and strict aura that others found difficult to emulate. The woman sitting across Jiang Cheng, however, was one of the rare few who had such presence. She had long, lustrous black hair which was tied up into a high braid which fell behind her back and short, side swept bangs framed her face. Her beautiful face held a slightly arrogant expression as she smiled confidently at the three Gusu visitors.
