The airport in Seattle was crowded. I wondered if anybody would notice that my "hair" was wig, or my skin looked fake and waxy. Yes, I, Barco Venice, proud original water marvel was dressed up as a filthy human. As I scratched at my fake nose, I wondered, when did I start thinking of humans as filthy? "Must be a thing from the past," I thought out loud. "What thing from the past?" asked the inspector as I reached the last security checkpoint. "Oh, I was just... thinking of a good line to say in my... book! Yeah, I write for fun and stuff, sooo..." I said, hoping my excuse tricked the inspector. "That's cool," he said, and handed me back my fake passport that the Rebels had given me. I handed a guard my (fake) backpack, which contained everything a (fake) teenage boy needed: a laptop, a charger, three books, a phone, and a notebook. I breezed past the last checkpoint and sat down, waiting for the four-o-clock flight. I nervously fingered a shell necklace, which was secretly was my awesome magical shell backpack. A man walked past me, then glanced curiously at me. He had a fancy, black, and extravagant handlebar mustache that curled up, he wore a magicians fancy black silk suit, and he had leather shoes of quality. "He must be of the Power," I muttered to myself. What's the power? Well, let me explain.
When I said the Scientists took over the world, I would like to correct that. They are really called the Power, and are made up of obedient, clever, and ruthless guards, scientists, politicians, and more. A nasty war against the Marvels and the Powers was going on, and the Rebels were on the Marvels side. Now that's cleared up, back to my story!
For an instant, I recognised the fancy man. As I struggled to regain my memory, the man walked up to me and said, "Names Magician Martin. Or as the public calls me, Martin Magic." Then, I remembered. Martin Magic was a Scientist, and was important in the Power. He invented things that awed the world and made him look like he was magical. But most important, he had a curious record with the Marvels. Without the Power's knowing, he tried to conduct experiments on us, and failed. Back then, when you saw a Marvel and turned it in to the Power or killed it, Martin would instead capture the Marvel and try to use it to his advantage. Example: magic shows, threatening fellow Powers, or something evil.
I stuttered, "N-nice to m-m-meet you Mr. Magic." Martin grinned evilly and said, "Now what is your purpose to going to New York, boy?" Martin put an extra emphasis on boy, as if he knew that I was a Marvel. I answered, "Going to see my grandma, sir." Martin nodded, then pulled out a slim black cellphone and started secretly whispering in it. I shrugged, and pulled out a book from the bag and started reading.
When I boarded the plane, a cheery flight attendant greeted us. After a long and routinely airplane procedure, the plane took off. I tipped my seat back and went to sleep...
"bump" "bump" I woke up suddenly, and the loudspeakers started blaring, "Ladies and Gentleman, we are experiencing some turbulence, please buckle up your seat belts and stay seated. Also, we have a important announcement from Martin Magic." "Hello. I have diagnosed the problem to the plane and found out that we are all going to crash! Please reach under your seats and retrieve your Crash Pack. May I repeat..." I jerked awake. A crash? I grabbed my backpack and Crash Pack, and waited patiently for my turn to jump out the emergency door. When the door opened and the first person prepared to jump, the plane suddenly came on fire! "Jump for your lives!!!" screamed a random person. People started rushing toward the door, trying to escape the sudden fire. As more people emptied out the plane, I noticed that some would not make it because the fire was advancing too quick. A sudden plan rushed to my head, and I tried to brush it off. "That's crazy..." I said. A women holding a baby sobbed, "We're not going to make it, Toby... We're not going to make it." A suddenly energy rushed through me, and hiding behind a seat, I allowed a bust of water to vanquish most of the fire. When everybody jumped out of the plane, I followed.
