Someone told me once, "You, you wouldn't cheat. You'd be faithful, you're a good girl." (Doesn't mean I wouldn't be cheated on 🤦🏾♀).
But it got me thinking. God asks for faithfulness. Yet I've cheated on Him time and again. I've rob Him of my time, dedicating my attention to those things that draw me away from Him. And if I can do that with God, what's going to stop me, to stop you from cheating on your partner?
Now, when I say cheat I am not speaking in the realm of messing around with another individual. Many may not realise it, but it is also in the realm of withholding time, attention from your partner and dedicating it to something else, someone else. It could be work. It could be your family. It could even be yourself.
Give to God that which is God's. He asks for but one day of seven - one specific day might I add. "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." Exodus 20: 8-11.
Stop cheating on God! Be faithful! And His reward - even eternal life - will be yours.
