As the car moved slowly through the long open road after passing several hills Susan wondered what her life might be like in this small town, she will soon call home. She was always used to living in big cities with tall buildings and breathing in the air which smelled like smoke, which was seemingly unpleasant in comparison to the air here, but the city wasn't all bad. There were several advantages one could gain by living in it. Susan was so busy in her thoughts she had not heard her mom, Emily speaking to her until she had asked her a question.

"Can you please repeat that?" She asked almost feeling a bit guilty that she ignored her.

Her sister, Lisa laughed from the front seat.

Emily sighed "I asked if you remember this place. We moved away when you so young and... well, do you?"

"I don't. Why?" Susan asked in a tone of curiosity.

"It's just I thought you still had memories of this place. This is where you were born," As her mom said it Susan knew she was happy to be back here. She remembered the first time Emily announced they were moving back to 'San Cloven' which was known as the city beyond the hills. Her eyes glittered and she had never seen her this happy before. But just the same when they were packing, she saw worry dominating her mind as she was in deep thought. But she thought it was just her being nervous.

Susan again focused her attention on the scenery she could see through the window of the car. It was truly beautiful. The green grass shined through the reflection of the sunlight like they emitted light. Trees waving in the direction of the wind. Birds flying fast to get back to their nests just before the blue sky give in to the darkness. She felt like somehow convincing her mom to stop the car and enjoy the sunset like she had never been able to experience amid her apartment window which was covered by tall buildings.

But part of her wanted to hate this place. She had to leave all her friends and miss her lessons just because her mom found a job here apparently better than her old one. She believed that all of this was her sister's fault. She suddenly just mentioned this place and the next thing Susan knew they were packing their things from their apartment. Sometimes she believed Lisa was a psychic.

After passing many other towns at night they reached San Cloven. Emily brought back the house they lived in before they left to the city which Susan found quite coincidental.

"I mean isn't it strange that no one even had the urge to buy this house. There must be something wrong with it. Maybe its rat infested or maybe its haunted by ghost..." before Susan could finish Lisa cut in. "The only ghost around here is you. One look at your baby pictures and they might have all run away thinking you're a ghost"

Susan ignored her like she normally does and got out of the car to stretch out. It had been hours since they had stopped. Then her mom got out and looked around. She looked young for a woman her age. Her black hair was straight, and she was tall making her slightly more intimidating just as a mother should look. But she had kind green eyes just like Susan and her smile was the reason she looked so beautiful though right now she wasn't smiling. She looked nostalgic instead.

"Nothing has changed. Even the town looks the same" Emily said and turned around. "You kids stay here and take your things out of the car. I must get the keys. I'll be right back" she quickly crossed the street and knocked on the door of the house opposite to theirs.

"Susan can you please be a dear and get my bag too. See, my nails are not capable of lifting things that our heavy" Lisa said so suddenly it made her jump. She calmed down for a moment and lifted the trunk of the car and took out the three duffle bags and put them on the ground.

"Those clothes are designer. I rather not you put them on the ground" Lisa said looking at her phone. She had been in it for hours. "who could she be possibly texting that much" Susan thought and closed the trunk of the car. She shot Lisa a threatening look, but Lisa was much too busy on the phone to notice her.
