"You came back Gigi! I missed you!" Lily runs into my arms and I lift her up and hug her.
"I missed you too, Lily!" Today was unlike most days. We had something to do and I wasn't just babysitting her today.
"How was your trip? Did you go to Mexico, or Florida?" Lily bombards me with tons of questions as I set her back down. I recently just got back from a month long vacation and Lily missed the time we spend together.
"It was a long story, how about we talk about it on our way," I grab her with both of my arms and hold her small body on top of my sides, her legs straddling my left hip, "We can even stop for ice cream on the way home."
I see Georgia and her smile beams at me. "How was your vacation, honey?" She engulfs Lily and I for a hug once we reach the top of the stairs.
I filled her in on our recent trip, we were pretty close now. I was their regular babysitter, I was Lily's companion as she was mine. Life had changed drastically.
We sorted out the plan for today, I told her the plan I had in mind and she asked me to run a few small errands for her. It wasn't long before I clicked Lily's seatbelt into place after I lifted her up into the booster, I used my mom's SUV.
We sang like we did every ride, belting out songs. Usually singing old pop songs or the hottest songs on the radio. We did the errands with Lily energy despite the inevitable end. Fast enough we had bought some flowers and wounded up at Atlas' grave.
I crouched down with staggered legs to reach Lily's height. She stood back up after placing the flowers on the grave next to my letter. I read his name and look at the quote etched elegantly under the short biography, "Dream real, live illusive."
