After finishing up with the hospital forms, Namjoon made his way to the room that Jungkook had been transferred to. He walked in to find 5 of the boys huddled, eating their dinner. Jin caught his eye and motioned his head towards the other end of the room. To his surprise, Namjoon looked over to find Yoongi and Aerin sitting next to each other on the sofa, talking quietly to each other. It's unlike Yoongi to be friendly with someone he just met. I guess this is not exactly the usual circumstance. And her friend did save JK after all.

Yoongi looked up and said, "They didn't have enough rooms, so they've put JK and Miki together in here."

Namjoon nodded at the explanation and walked over to Jungkook. He was so still and pale, Namjoon realized with a squeeze of his heart. Jungkook is a grown man now, but looking at him now, vulnerable with all sort of tubes attached to him, reminded Namjoon of when he first met 13 year old JK. He always was a good kid with a heart of gold, but there had been some rough periods between them as Namjoon and the older boys tried to steer JK through his teenage years. Namjoon thought that as JK got older, he would feel less protective of him, but that hasn't happened. I guess that's what love is. He reached over and squeezed JK's hand.

Namjoon looked over to the other bed, curious about the woman who had risked her life to save someone he loved. She was tall and slender, with delicate features. She looked fragile, and not at all what Namjoon imagined as a heroine. Still, there was no doubting he owed her a debt of gratitude. It's time to get to the bottom of this mess.

He turned around to find the 6 boys behind him.

"What are we going to do about this, hyung?" Jimin asked he stepped forward.

"I'll talk to the cops. First thing is we need to figure out if JK was the target or whether he was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. Then we need to find this guy." Namjoon said, his voice going hard as we thought about the bastard who had hurt JK.

"Ok let's all split up and hit our informants. Following the info flow on the street is probably the fastest way to get it done." said Jin. They nodded and left the room one by one after each of them went over to give JK a pat on their way out.

Aerin watched the whole scene play out in confusion. Informants? Catching the bad guy? What on earth. Who are these people? She felt momentary fear as she realized she knew nothing about these boys. What if they were part of a gang or something.

Yoongi cleared his throat to catch Aerin's attention. When she looked up into his eyes, she felt her fear dissipate. He was one of the the good guys, she was sure of it. She didnt know how she knew, she just did. She was always a big believer in her gut feeling and it was definitely telling her that he could be trusted. It didn't stop her from voicing her curiosity though.

"Umm guys, I don't think you should be running around town trying to catch the bad guy yourselves. That's what the cops are for. And who the hell has informants? Who are you?"

By this stage, only Namjoon and Yoongi were left in the room.

"Don't worry about it. We know what we're doing. I used to be a prosecutor for the state and Yoongi here used to be a cop. We run our own shop now."

"What kind of shop?"

"A little private detective agency. Anyway as I said, don't worry about it. We can look after ourselves and we'll find out who did this. Both for JK and Miki. Listen, the doctor said JK won't be awake for a few hours yet. We're going to head out for a bit. If you're staying with Miki, can you please keep an eye out for him? We'll be back within the hour. I just don't want him to wake up to an empty room in case he does wake up."

"No problem, I'll be here all night anyway."

Yoongi looked her over and said, "You're going to be uncomfortable in those clothes the whole night. Give me your house keys and I'll grab you some stuff."

"No, no, it's ok. I'll manage."

"Give. Me. The. Keys." Yoongi said gruffly.

"Ok..." Aerin was taken aback by his scowl. "Actually Miki and I were supposed to go away this weekend so there's an overnight bag by the door that's already got all our things. I'll text you our address."

Yoongi nodded and left without another word.

"Don't worry about it, that's just how Yoongi is. He doesn't mean anything by it. He just gets awkward when he's doing something nice." Namjoon said as he followed Yoongi out the door.
