Valentina woke up as if she experienced a cardiac arrest. She panted hard as she found herself sitting on the floor, next to the dining table. Liam sat on the sofa while holding Emma on his lap, he looked down at Valentina as if she caused some serious trouble.
"So.... I'm the person that you choose to die... Oh well...it doesn't matter. As long as you will survive in the end... I don't care what happens to me..." Liam spoke nonchalantly.
"Liam?... You're still alive...?"
"Not for much longer... Tonight's the last night... It's either we all die...or just me... But it depends... When that devil asked you if you value death,... What did you answer?..."
"I said no..."
"Thank you... Now we're all going to die..."
"What?! Liam! Tell me! What's happening?! I don't want you to die! Please!" Valentina cried as she begged on his knee, she bowed her head down and sobbed.
"What are we gonna do?!" Valentina lifted her head up, pleading with tears streaming down her face.
Liam showed her face of anger, he quickly placed Emma down on the sofa which caused her to cry, then stood up, pushing Valentina to the ground.
"Why can't you accept death?!! It happens to everyone only once! We are all born to die in life and live in death! Don't you understand!! You got what you wished for! Now you're time is up!!"
Liam looked down at her in resentment, he couldn't bare to look at her face.
"Wait...what do you mean..." Valentina says trembling, Liam looks back at her after walking away.
"What do you mean by...'live in death'?..." She continues.
Liam sighs and rubs his forehead, he goes back to the sofa and picks Emma up.
"Do you think you're alive right now?... No. You're just breathing. The moment you realise you're alive...is when you're dead!"
Liam leaves with Emma, leaving Valentina all alone sobbing on the floor.
After sometime, Valentina curled herself into a ball. Her tears dried up and she had a twisted feeling in her stomach.

Flashback"Mom... They say that marriage... is the next chapter of your life... is that true?..." Young and beautiful Valentina questions her mother, who is styling her hair, for her wedding.
"Why of course, dear..."
"But what if...it ends up being my final chapter... what if...I die tonight?... There would be no point in marrying a man who only thinks about himself."
"What are you saying Val?! Have you any idea what kind of man Liam is?"
"The same as any man in the world...?" Valentina said carelessly.
"No...Liam will love you... Don't you worry... Marriage is very important in your life... Because the man you will marry...will be there for you in the beginning and end of everything in your life." Her mother said.
"What if we took a divorce on the first night?"
"Don't be silly!" She gently slapped Valentina on the shoulder.
"What if... We won't fall in love?..."
Her mother leaned in and hugged her from behind looking at her daughter's reflection.
