Chapter 8: Uninvited guest

It was dawn. The sun burts through the sky with its radiant light. Valentina woke up slowly... She felt dizzy and her head was pounding. She grunts as she gets up, from the cold floor. She looks at Liam, who was sound asleep. She groaned as she got up. She held her head to prevent the pain.

"Liam..."

Valentina touched his face, then rapidly, Liam jiggered.

"AAAH!!!"-"AAH!" Liam screamed which frightened Valentina to scream.

"You scared the shit out of me!!" Liam yelled after realising it was Valentina, all perfectly normal.

"You scared the shit out of me too!"

They both sighed.

"What the f*ck were you doing last night?!" Liam shouted randomly at Valentina, who was shocked out of the blue.

"Uh...I don't know...I wasn't myself...I just can't believe I....did that..."

"I can't believe your face is perfectly fine..." Liam said as he leaned over, and touched her cheek.

Valentina backed away in confusion. "What are you talking about?... Did something happen to my face?..."

"Yeah... You grabbed a knife and slit half of your face...Wait! Don't you remember that?"

"No...all I remember was that I...killed...Emma..." Valentina spoke quietly by the end of her sentence.

"Huh?! Don't you know anything you did after?!"

"Yes! But you came in! And pushed me to the balcony! You locked the door and left me there! You were about to kill yourself!! I was so confused... Why did you do that?.."

"What are you talking about?... I didn't do anything..."

"Yes you did!" Valentina yelled, her eyes looked so hurt and betrayed by him that tears formed in her eyes.

Liam narrowed his eyes, he couldn't comprehend what was going on last night. "Valentina.... What happened?..."

"I don't even know! You kicked me out! Like you didn't even love me anymore!... What did I do?...tell me..."

"You... I don't understand... were you at two places at once...?...no, that's stupid..." Liam said quietly, as he lowered his head. "I'm tired...I'm going to sleep..." Liam stood up and left for the bedroom.

Valentina looked down, she was very concerned of what happened last night. Who was telling the truth?..and who's been living through a lie?..

She stood up and went to the canvas room, she began painting a painting that she, herself, has never seen before.

"Truth..." Valentina said while looking at her masterpiece, she wrote the words on the canvas.

Liam came out of the bedroom while holding Emma in his arms, she was bawling. Valentina turned and grabbed Emma from him.
