Originally, Callie was going to be a mermaid spirit who would lure survivors of the apocalypse to their deaths if they cross the waters. The meaning behind this is that she never even forgave her lover in the first place after he left her in High school and she drowned herself in the ocean before graduation began, leaving a suicide note behind for him when he came back.
She would sing this just to lure them to crash.
