three (ii)

Days passed by and the routine was like usual. Gluttony avoided Temperance for the sake of respecting her decisions, Temperance, as usual, she couldn't care less about him. Half the class cheered for them. Someone dubbed them 'Glutemp'. The other half ships her and Rhea.

Gluttony was so confused on what he did wrong. Being avoided and hated like this by someone you care for was also really confusing. Especially when you get no explanation. But it's okay, he managed to avoid food and water in the spirit realm for thousands of years, he can survive without her.

Even after the hell they've gone through, he still thinks that it's not okay to lean on someone who understands your pain and let them lean on you.

All he really wanted was an explanation, though. He had asked Envy and Envy had said that Kindness said that Temperance actually does like him and she's just acting like that because she's clueless on how to deal with her emotions. God, what a long line of messengers.

That doesn't seem true, so Gluttony just said yes and thanked Envy. He was still miserable, though.

And it all went to hell when Temperance was assigned as his lab partner.

Okay, she's great in her work, she's got amazing penmanship and their teamwork is decent (being partners and rivals since humanity started does that to you) and they're gonna get good grades, but Gluttony could never ignore how horrible his performance was when working with Temperance.

He typed the same word in five different ways in one (1) singular paragraph, he's used up all of their correction tapes (combined), his usually okay handwriting was intelligible, and all he wanted to do was stab a pen to his wrist.

Weirdly, though, she was tolerant of that, and her attitude was actually really pleasant. Gluttony didn't want her to go back to hating him because he kept on messing up the report, though, so he suggested that he work on the research and Temperance work on their report, if she doesn't like working with him.

That hurt to say, somehow. But Temperance agreed. This is for the greater good, too, so he'll be fine.
