"Scalpel." "Scalpel."
"Suction." "Suction."
Instruments passed between the two as they prepared for emergency heart surgery.
Armin bowed before Levi and Rei, notifying them of advancements made. A solemn expression set on the Captain as he slammed and shattered the 8th shot of whisky.
Rei flinched as Admin dove to clean the mess. "S-Sir. Cadet Connie wanted to speak with you." Frustration began building up inside him. "Send the brat in. Make sure he brings another bottle.
"Y-Yes Sir!" Rei looked carefully at Levi. The heartbreak of the procedure put him in a state of anger and denial. "Mr. Levi.. That's the 8th glass you've broken in the last hour."
Anger.
He growled at the young girl. "So what? I risked my ass for that brat! She should be on her knees thanking me! Not in a hospital bed getting surgery!"
A whimper escaped her lips as she flinched from his tone. "Get out of my sight. You're only a bother to me!"
Her tiny fists curled into fists as she walked to the door. Before she would 'leave his sight' she had one more thing to say.
Turning on her heels courageously, she spoke to the drunk boy.
"You should be ashamed of yourself. Thinking of her life as a prize? You are lower than dirt! She was wrong about you!!"
The door slammed, closing the light off for good. Her words stung, because he knew she spoke the truth. Instead of worry, he was angry.
He doesn't deserve her.....

Timeskip to when you are fully recovered. You were in a coma for about 5 months.*gasp* "You're awake!" Small hands wrapped around the two of her legs as her eyes adjusted to the harsh lighting. A pain stung her chest as she moved to sit up. "L-Levi.. Where is he?"
Rei's eyes narrowed in tiny anger. "He's a jerk.. Nothing like we thought he was.." Y/n knew immediately that she needed to see him.
She cupped Rei's cheek with her left hand. "You're wrong Rei. He isn't a bad man. He's just broken. We are all broken. It just takes that special person to put us back together. I can help him."
She wiped away her tears as she nodded. "You can do it. I know you can." Standing from the bed, her body began rejecting her. Rei rushed to try and support her friend, but neither of them had the strength. Before they could even reach the door, it swung open. Before them stood...
Eren. His teal eyes were warm and full of life. He crouched down to take Y/n from Rei. She tried pushing him away, but he kept a strong grip on her.
He shifted his eyes to look her in the eyes. "You want to see Levi right? I can take you there." "I-I don't.." Eren studied her expression for a moment, perhaps to think before he spoke.
"I understand why you're upset. I went way over the line with that..attack. I promise I'll make it up to you. As a start, I'll take you to him. Please give me a chance to prove-"
"Alright. If you screw this up.." He smiled at her. A big cheeky smile.
-
"Bring me another glass! All of mine disappeared!" Armin shuddered in fear of the cranky captain. "B-But sir.. You b-broke them all.." "Silence!"
The neck of the wine bottle suddenly burst. "Find some!"
A confident knock on his door only frustrated the intoxicated anger he was feeling. He turned to the blonde. "Get them to leave!!"
"I'm sorry to bother you sir. Eren Jaeger and Y/n L/n are here.
Y/n L/n.That name rings a bell but he can't put a face to the name.
The pain in his heart pushed the thought of her out of his mind.
Muffled conversation outside the door only irked him further. "He isn't in the mood. No one can calm him when he's this cranky. I'll take you back to your ro-"
"No. Just.. Let me talk to him." "Y/n. That isn't a good idea!" She sent him a glare and he slowly let her stand on her own.
"I'll.. See you at breakfast then.." "Yeah.."
Y/n looked once more at the door before her. The shouting and mean words he said to Rei scared her. This was the first time she feared him.
She knocked on the door again, only to hear muffled curses and 'get out's.
Finally, she rested her head on the door. "Levi.. It's me.. Can we talk?" "I have nothing to say to you!"
Frustration took over her as she opened the door. She held onto the handle to support herself.
Levi's eyes never left her figure. They almost seemed to relax at the sight of her. It almost sobered him. "It's not professional to barge in unwelcomed. Were you raised in a barn?"
"People are eating each other and you want me to knock for another hour while you scream at me?" "You shouldn't speak to me like that. Why don't you just leave me alone."
The blank stare he was giving her sent her over the edge. She pushed off the door and limped towards him.
"You know what? You think you're some kind of victim? While everyone was doing their jobs properly, you were to busy hitting the bottle so you could forget your pain. It's pathetic to lash out on others when you are the real problem. What you said to Rei, Armin and all the others was uncalled for. Get off your ass and do your work. Stop throwing a fit like some SPOILED brat!"
The room was silent except for the sound of Y/n catching her breath. Levi's eyes were wide as he absorbed her words. She sobered him enough to think clearly.
A sigh fell from her lips as she clasped her heart. "All of this because I decided to take a risk. I'll leave you alone like you wanted.."
He stood quickly, not thinking of the amount of alcohol he had consumed. The world spun sideways as he plummeted to the floor.
Everything was a blur to him. Y/n had tried to catch him, but putting wait on her foot caused her to cry out in pain.
Taking one whiff and she gasped to breathe actual air. "A-Armin!" The boy opened the door and was at her side in a second. Together, they moved him to his bed. She then dismissed him.
As she took off his shoes, she sighed once again. "Damn it Levi. This wouldn't have happened if you never met me. I make everything harder than it is. I might just book it while your asleep.. To drunk to follow me anyways.."
"I'm going to go now, try to take it easy in the morning. I'll let Hanji know you need medicine for that hangover."
Before she could leave, he carefully wrapped his fingers around her wrist.
"Could you stay with me tonight.. I-I don't want to be alone.." Y/n observed him closely.
He's probably doing this because he's drunk. No need to make him feel bad about it. She nodded. "Let me lock your door and let Armin off for the night."
As soon as she left the room, Levi chuckled to himself. The pinkish hue on his cheeks faded slightly. He didn't want her to know he was sobered up.
