Estadio Mineirão
Belo Horizonte, Brazil
Wendy's POV:

It's the semifinals of the World Cup, and Brazil, Germany, Argentina, and the Netherlands are the only teams left.

Today, my friends and I are at the Estadio Mineirão to watch Brazil vs. Germany. The Netherlands takes on Argentina tomorrow.

Wow, this World Cup is going faster than I thought. We're only eight days into July, and a lot has already happened.

In the quarterfinals, Brazil won 2-1 against Colombia. It was a pretty wild match to watch.

Neymar's out of the World Cup with a vertebrae injury thanks to Colombian player Juan Zúñiga.

It was such a gruesome injury. I'm still shocked that Zúñiga didn't get sent off.

Even though Brazil's captain, Thiago Silva, scored the opening goal, he received a yellow card in the second half.

It's Thiago's second yellow card in the World Cup, which means he'll have to miss today's game against Germany.

At least Thiago can watch the game with my friends and me in the VIP section. He's sitting in between Tiana and Marc.

"I'm nervous about the match," Thiago spoke.

"Neymar and I can't play tonight, which leaves Nicky to take Ney's position and David with the captain's armband. Also, Germany's a tough team."

"Don't worry, Thiago. With David's leadership, Nicky's talent, and the team's hard work, Brazil will go through," Marc said, assuring the Brazilian defender.

Everyone nodded in agreement.

After the Brazil and Germany players got into their positions, the whistle blew. Nicky passes the ball to his Brazil/Chelsea teammate, Willian.

The ball goes around Brazil's defense until it reaches Oscar Emboaba, another Brazil/Chelsea player.

He shows off his fabulous skills and gives the ball to Brazil/Manchester City player Fernandinho.

"Oscar is such a talented player," Justin said. "He's doing good so far not only tonight but in the tournament as well."

"I agree," Marc said. "I remember when Chelsea versed Juven— Oh my god, he's about to score!"

My friends and I cheered as Oscar took the shot.

We got up from our seats and groaned as Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer caught the ball. He runs up and throws the ball to a German player.

A few minutes later, Thomas Müller scores. He celebrates with his teammates.

Thiago, my friends, and I sighed.

Well, it's only 1-0.

Brazil has the rest of the first half and an entire second half to tie the game.

In the Middle of the Second Half

Oh god, Germany's winning 5-0!

The five goals were all scored in the first half.

"I can't believe this," I thought.

"Brazil is playing, especially Nicky," Justin said.

He looks over at Tiana.

"I am sorry, Tiana, but your brother is getting outclassed,"

"It's okay Justin, I agree with you," Tiana replied. "Brazil's defense is atrocious. Besides Oscar's shot in the first half, they had no chances on goal."
