15 Years Later...

"Madinah grew up in Cal, Idiot! She's not even a Nigerian!!"

"Say whatever, Miss Talker. You have the freedom of speech to say that but let me tell you something. Blood is thicker than water." Zayd rolled his eyes at me.

"Madinah might not live in Nigeria or visit Nigeria even once but she is still a Nigerian. The Madinah I know is a very good girl, and would never disappoint me. That, I'm sure of."

"Heyyyy! See monkey-banana calling himself champion. Well, I don't blame you. Her love has gotten into your head that you can't think straight anymore, ehn? I understand."

"But don't be disappointed when this girl leaves you for a white guy! You know those oyimbo now... Don't say I didn't warn you oo!"

"Just leave me alone, madam-oversabi!"

Okay okay... Whatever! I've managed to gather some money from my story writing. I scripted a story for some university students and they paid me well, a thousand naira per story.

Oh thank goodness you're able to do something with those tiny hands of yours. We're so wretched Zay! Wretched!!

Point of connection, naughty! You're the only wretched person here, not me. Insha Allah, we'll make something out of life.

"I just wish mum and da-"

Hey, let the past remain the past, okay? Everything happened as Allah planned. Let's move on with our lives and have faith.

"Uhhh... I wish I can be like you, Zay. You so remind me of mum."

"Whatever, I'm me and you're you, Zayd. Nothing can change that. I'm still looking for what to write... I mean an idea. I've sold my best stories to those empty-heads, theatre art students... Even the spectacular ones I wrote since childhood."

Note:

Zayd is a dropout in college, he couldn't complete his 2nd year because of tuition fees. The college suddenly made the fees double it's normal amount.
