GOOD GREETINGS TO ALL OF YOU! Hope you all are having a great day today and don't forget to hang up those Christmas lights like crazy as if you were decorating the Skelebros' House! Also quick disclaimer, there is a more sensitive topic in this chapter but I tried making it as PG as I could. Okay I'll stop talking now. Enjoy the story! :)

[ 𝐘/𝐍'𝐬 𝐏𝐎𝐕 ]

A cold winter breeze flew past as I walked along the concrete sidewalk. The morning sun shined through the frosty clouds. I was wearing my [Favorite Color] turtle neck and a fluffy black coat over it to keep me nice and warm. My [F/C] beanie covered my soft [Hair Color] hair. I could hear the crunching of snow under my black snow boots.

I loved Christmas. The sound of children laughing, the smell of hot cocoa and gingerbread, and the feeling of joy all in all. Everyone just pausing their *work to spend some time with their loved ones. Christmas was like a break from reality for me. A time to sit down and breathe.

I was walking to a small *bakery that was known for their fresh pastries and welcoming aura. I had a little bit of money left over so I thought, why not treat myself today. A small ding of a bell rang as I entered the cozy store. All at once my nose was greeted with the delicious smells of the pastries before me. The store was warm and toasty and gave off a very homey feeling. There were a few tables organized to make the place feel more open but also give you a place to relax while you eat your food.

I took in the scent once more and walked to the case filled *with rows and rows of goodies. I managed to find my favorite pastry, [Favorite Pastry]. I looked at it as if it was the greatest piece of art in the world. I went up to the cashier and rang a small bell to indicate there was a customer at the stand. I waited for a moment before an old, fat man wearing an apron came forward. His eyes sparkled with wisdom and kindness, he had a very grandparent-y vibe. He gave me a gentle smile and asked what I wanted.

"I would like to buy three [F/P] please." I said with as much respect as I could.

He gave a small nod and walked to the glass case to take out the baked goods. I could already smell the [F/P] from here and couldn't wait to dig into it. He came back to the cash register and placed it on the hard surface.

"That'll be six dollars and fifteen cents, dear." I brought out my wallet and froze.

I only had five dollars. He seemed to notice my change in expression and asked,

"Do you not have enough money dear?" He asked, genuinely curious.

"Y-yes.. I-I'm sorry sir! I thought I had enough to get-" A hearty laugh interrupted my explanation. I looked at him with confusion in my eyes.

"Ohoho! No need to fuss over the price dear. They're on the house." I look at him and blinked. Did I hear that right?

"..w-what?"

"It's Christmas time my dear! A little good never hurt anyone." He smiled genuinely and placed my food in a paper bag. I watched, still trying to figure out why he would do this.

"What's your name dear?" He asked, breaking you out of your concentration.

"U-uhm.. [Y-Y/N] sir.." I stuttered out.

"Well [Y/N], I'm *Henry and I want to tell you something an old friend told me once," I listened intently, curious with what he would say.

"Christmas... is not an external event at all, but a piece of one's home in one's heart.. Yes, there may be all the lights and decorations, but the thing that does light up Christmas are the people who give and expect nothing in return," He ended.
