The war is over. No more bombs nor guns were heard in the city of America. The people were finally at peace.

Steven Grant Rogers, Captain of the American military was awarded for his leadership and bravery in the battlefield.

As the humble guy he was he said he was only doing his job though was still sad because a lot of soldiers have fallen. But he knows they have no regrets because they served their country and died with honor.

After having their celebration in a one local bar, they went to the theater to indulge themselves with some ballet performances.

Steve really was actually forced to join since he said he would rather stay at home and rest but his best friend, Sergeant James Barnes whom he calls Bucky had a different thing in mind.

Since they were now known (especially Steve), they had the best seats in the house despite being a little late.

From what Steve have read, the show is called "The Nutcracker" or something. He wasn't really sure because he doesn't know that much in ballet.

"Oh, what's with the bored face?" Bucky said. "Come on, Steve. Smile a bit. From what they said, the ballerinas can see you clearly from that seat. They would be sad if they saw someone frowning in their performance right?"

Steve sucked a breath and turned his head to him with the same frown. Bucky just gave him a wide grin and thumbs up.

Steve sighed and focused his attention to the stage.

Now that Steve thinks of it, he hasn't really seen an actual performance of a ballet and as his first time the backdrop already caught his eyes so disappearing his frown he watched as the show was about to start with a small smile.

The first act started and he was enjoying the first two minutes of the show. They are really good. Such grace and poise. The ballerinas are beautiful. Some even spare him glances and give him their sweet smile. He mostly returns it to boost their confidence.

It is about a girl named Clara who has been given with a toy nutcracker who came into life at the strike of midnight. The nutcracker transformed into a prince and together they traveled to what they call "The land of sweets".

It has a very interesting plot so Steve found himself getting even more interested with the show.

Then the second act came. Clara and Eric reached "The Land of Sweets" and she came out. The Sugar Plum Fairy.

The only ballerina that stood out to Steve among the rest. Her beautiful red hair was braided beautifully with a lovely crown on top of her head. The golden clothing she is wearing made her even more gorgeous. But what really made her stood out more was the sweet smile on her face. She is totally ravishing.

He watched her every movement intently without taking his eyes off of her for even just a millisecond.

But then, the moment he has waiting for came. He can literally feel his heart stopping.

They made eye contact.

Steve unconsciously made a surprised expression making her subtly giggle while dancing. Though, it didn't escaped from Steve's gaze.

Bucky turned to his best friend to complement the ballerina to him but stopped when he saw how focused he was while watching the girl.

Bucky had a mischievous smile on his face as he think of his oh so wonderful plan in his head.

The show ended with a lot of claps from the audience.

Steve only had his eyes on that one particular ballerina and he had never been desperate to meet her up close. And he thought he's having it bad.

He was about to leave the theater but Bucky stopped him.

"Where do you think you're going, Cap?" He asked.

"Umm, I need to go home, Buck. I'm tired." He nervously said.

"After falling in love for the first time? Hell no." Bucky thought.

"Oh come on. At least congratulate the dancers first for their amazing performance." Bucky commenced his plan.

"Uh, no. You go on." Steve declined.

Bucky literally rolled his eyes. "You are coming with me wether you like it or not. I'll have better access with the ladies when you're around so."

Before Steve could even protest, Bucky was already dragging him towards the backstage.

When the two entered, he can literally feel his cheeks warming after he saw the happy looks from the ballerinas.

"May I help you, gentlemen?" A person who looks like incharged of the show came to them. They figured she's Russian because of hee accent.

"Yes, madame. My friend, Captain Rogers, here would like to meet someone because he was totally astonished with her performance." Steve whipped his head to Bucky.

"What the-" He began but Bucky just winked at him.

"Oh?" The woman smiled. "May I know who she was so I can call her for you?"

"The one who portrayed the sugar plum fairy." Bucky answered.

The smile of the woman widened but then it fell. Steve, secretly hoping he would meet her, got worried.

"Oh dear." She sighed.

"Unfortunately, you can't. She is one of the most popular and beautiful ballerinas here and she once got herself in danger when a man approached her up close. What a pervert really." She said while shaking her head. "She was really traumatized by that causing her to stop performing for a while and when she did start performing again she never really showed up for any people who would want to meet her in short distance anymore. My apologies."

Steve's shoulder fell and nodded.

"No need for the apologies, madame. We should be the one apologizing for even trying. But please send her our regards." Steve smiled at her then bid her goodbye before he left. Bucky did the same and followed his friend.

The scowl on his friend's face made him worried. "Steve are you upset?"

"Yes, Buck." He sighed. "But not because of you. I just didn't really like hearing the cause of her trauma. Like, I have an urge to protect her or something. It's frustraing."

Bucky smiled a bit because of his friend. "I'm sure she's fine now, Cap. Not fully but is getting there."

He said while tapping his friend's back.

Meanwhile....

A certain red headed ballerina wearing a cloak to cover herself heared everything that the two soldiers were talking about. It warms her heart that the soldier she made eye contact with earlier cares about her.

It took all of her bravery to follow them because she want to meet him personally too. She actually saw his face fell when Madame B said that she will be unable to meet him so she felt guilty.

When the shorter soldier left, it was her chance to meet him personally. So without wasting any seconds she lightly ran to him without making any noises. (Ballerina feet! Light as a feather)

Steve placed his hand in his pant's pocket and was about to continue walking but stopped when he felt someone holding his sleeve.

He was alarmed but calmed down when he saw the person's tiny pale hand.

He slowly turned to the person and his heart beated so fast when baby blue eyes made contact with emerald green ones.

"Hello.." She smiled at him.

I am fond of cliffhangers and incomplete pieces XXD

Oh Imma share something to you guys hehe.

So back in 9th grade, I had a classmate who is not really good in English so I wrote "ballet" on a piece of paper and told her to read it out loud. And instead of "ba-, or ba-ley" she pronounced it as "ba-let" and I laughed. Then another classmate of mine took my paper and wrote "bullet" on it and made it read it again. And instead of "bu-let" she pronounced it as "bu-ley". So yes we died laughing hahaha.
