The fabulous thing about having a broken leg is that everyone feels sorry for you. Most people would despise the pity but for someone who's always looking after other people it's nice to have a change. People hold doors open for you, carry your bags , bring food to you and make meaningless conversation to find out how you managed to get yourself into such an awful predicament. Apart from the fact that I can't go running or swim, I can still go the gym and do my bench and back presses.
With all of this came a lot of time to think. I've had a whole month of thinking and that thinking came in the format of Ms. Gosvan. A month and no word from her which leaves me feeling slightly deflated and used but I'm moving on despite the pressure of her blue eyes on my skull. Well, at least I thought I'd moved on.
Matti comes into the apartment in a confused flurry with his arms flying in the air,"Have you looked on her website?!" He explains nearly shouting. I'm lying on the couch flicking through some pictures on my camera and my eyes narrow suspiciously,
"What website?" I answer my voice low and quizzical,
"Your pictures are on her website. Plus Miss today told us that a couple of corporate companies want to speak to us - mainly you obviously," Matti explains leaning over me and placing his hands on my shoulders firmly,
"Get my laptop," I state my voice cold and resolute. Settling beside me with the laptop on his lap, Matti giddily finds the website which is clean exquisite and business like and to my surprise, I find my pictures of the party on the home page, fading to the next one and so forth,
"They look great don't they? Plus she wants to speak to you! She must've changed her mind after all," Matti explains squeezing my bicep and I shrug my shoulders attempting to appear as if the pictures don't send my heart burning with an intense fire and passion.
"When does she want to speak me?" I ask folding my arms across my chest attempting to hide the loud thumping my heart is making,
"She's at the uni right now! That's why I came to get you!" He explains yelling in my face, his eyes bulging from his sockets. My hands instantly reach for my crutches but I hesitate knowing our last parting was more painful than breaking my leg,
"I don't know...," I begin but Matti slaps my thigh and reaches for my crutches. Grabbing me beneath the armpit, he lifts me up and sets me wobbly on my feet before placing the crutches under my armpits. Matti was as strong as he looked. Considering how lazy and idle Matti was, he careered me into the polo at speed and zoomed to the uni and we were now climbing the long winding stairs,
"This seriously takes the piss," I moan as I push myself upwards but Matti undeterred urges me onwards.
My teacher Mrs. Berry greets me at the top of the stairs with a wide coffee stained toothy grin and explains that Ms. Gosvan is waiting for me. As I enter the clustered art room which smells distinctly of oil paints and coffee, I spot Ms. Gosvan with her back to me gazing outside at the London City. Mrs. Berry and Matti gesture for me to enter the room and I softly shut the solid oak door behind. Whether she's heard me enter she makes no indication and continues gazing out of the large window.
Her blonde hair is up in a tight bun revealing her small yet slender pale neck and she's wearing a white blouse, a red pencil skirt and some black leather Louboutins. Clearing my throat, I scrape back a chair noisily and seat myself on the farthest table from her,
