Niko walked down the hall of his new school, his black backpack slung over one shoulder. His found his way to the office and signed in on a little clip board that was on the front desk. A short lady asked him if he was new here. Niko nodded and smiled.
"Yes Ma'am, I just moved here." He said his black hair falling into his dark brown eyes. His eyes were tired, as they usually where. He had Narcolepsy, a rare condition that kept his brain awake at night so the next day he so tired he usually fell asleep.
The lady looked him up and down, " What is your name dear?" She asked smiling, she had a flowery dress and blond hair that retched her jawline.
"Nikolas Shall." He said politely. " What is your name Ma'am?" The woman chuckled, writing something down on a piece of paper. "My name is Mrs. Patty." She said, and continued to write things down. " You are a very polite young man, no one has ever asked my name before." With her pen she tapped a little pin on her shirt that had her name carved into it.
" Ma'am can you help me find my way around this school?" He asked gesturing to the hallways that branched off the main lobby. "This school is definitely larger then my previous school." The lady nodded and held up a finger, picking up the phone and bringing it up to her ear.
"Can Lee Markey come to the office? Can Lee Markey come to the office." Niko jumped as the loud speaker blared Mrs.Patty's voice. " Sorry dear," she said setting the phone down on the receiver. "I didn't mean to startle you."
"No that's okay!" Niko said smiling nervously. "Who is Lee?" He asked. Mrs. Patty smiled again. "Leon Markey or Lee as everyone calls him, is an eleventh grade student who is in higher honors roll." She said. " Unfortunately I have to stay here at the office but he can help you find your way around the school." Niko nodded.
"Thank you Ma'an." He said as Mrs.Patty handed him a schedule. Fast footsteps approached and a boy with curtly brown hair came from one of the corridors. "Mrs. Patty!" The boy said reaching the desk. " I'm not in trouble am I?" The boy asked nervously.
" Of corse not, Lee!" Mrs. Patty said chuckling. " I need you to help a new student around ,please." Mrs.Patty said gesturing at Niko. Niko smiles at the boy and waved cheerfully. The boy smiled at him and took him by the hand and lead him down a hallway. "Good bye Mrs. Patty." The boy called to the desk attendant. "Good bye Lee! And welcome to Burtent High School, Nikolas!"
