It's been about a week since we landed on the ground. Everyone was a bit freaked out at first but things are finally settling down. Although Bellamy and his crew always seem to be up to no good with their whole 'whatever the hell we want' parade. They're just looking for trouble if you ask me, but I try to stay out of things.

Clarke is usually the one to stand up and say something. We grew close quickly, probably because we had similar opinions and priorities. We're practically best friends but lately I've started to develop feelings for her. I usually just try to ignore them because I know I don't have a chance. Plus, pretty much all the guys seem to like her. Especially Bellamy. I can't stand how he treats her.

Right now Clarke and I are in the drop-ship tending to a poor kid that Murphy almost killed after he was attacked by a grounder. She was good at this type of thing, caring for the injured. I think that's what made me fall for her: she was so kind and selfless. She put the needs of others before her own and it was honorable. Me, on the other hand, was more of a fighter. I'm better at the physical stuff, not the emotional. Maybe that's why I haven't been able to tell Clarke that I have feelings for her.

I watched Clarke as she gently dabbed the kid's forehead with a cold rag. Her face was perfectly illuminated by the moonlight seeping through the window and I wanted to tell her how beautiful she looked right now. However, I didn't even get the chance when I heard chanting coming from outside the drop-ship. Clarke and I shared brief eye contact before getting up and running outside.

I stopped as I reached the outside and my eyes widened at the sight in front of me. Everyone was lined up in front of the fire waiting to retrieve their food. It seemed all fine until I saw the large pile of wristbands on the ground.

"They're taking their wristbands off for food?" Clarke asked, dumbfounded by the ridiculous idea.

"I-" Before I could reply, she was storming over to where Bellamy and Murphy were standing proudly.

"What the hell Bellamy? You can't do this!" Clarke yelled angrily and pointed accusingly at the pile of discarded wristbands.

"Woah, hey princess! Easy now." Bellamy said with a chuckle and stuck his hands out in front of him.

"Stop calling me that!" Clarke yelled, getting angrier by the second. "And who do you think you are, forcing them to take off their wristbands just for food? Those wristbands are the only things telling the ark that we are alive and that the Earth is survivable! Do you really want your families thinking you're dead?" Clarke tried to reason but I could tell Bellamy wasn't having it.

"Exactly, those wristbands are the only things tying us to the ark, to the people who locked us up for years and then sent us to the ground to die!" Bellamy yelled back, pointing his finger to the ground.

The whole crowd started yelling in agreement and Bellamy took a step closer to Clarke. I was about ready to punch Bellamy in the face for yelling at Clarke like that. If he gets any closer, I'm gonna have to intervene.

"I am not a prisoner and I am claiming my freedom by taking this wristband off." Bellamy yelled again and stared Clarke dead in the eyes "And you can't stop me." The crowd got even louder, chanting stupid things and pumping their fists in the air.

That was it. I have had enough of him being disrespectful to Clarke. I stomped over to Bellamy and stood in between them so he couldn't get any closer to Clarke. "Why don't you back up?" Everyone seemed to quiet down as I stared at Bellamy harshly. I was nearly the same height as him so we were face to face.

"Why don't we all just relax, okay? I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt." Bellamy said calmly, but I could tell he didn't really mean what he said. He thought I was weak and he didn't think I would fight him. Typical.
